I need to vent...

We have been TTC our second bub since Jan 2018 (21 months).   We feel pregnant on our second cycle but unfortunately had a miscarriage in April 2018 at 8 weeks :(

Since then we have had 7 chemicals/early miscarriages, all by 5 weeks.

I am seeing a fertility specialist. I have had soo many blood tests, ultrasounds etc and all my results have been perfect.  I have had a laparoscopy and hysterocopy and just had another chemical this cycle (first cycle trying after the procedures)....

Why does this keep happening...

We still have no answers :(

I don't know how many more I can handle.

Fingers crossed we have some luck soon.

Has anyone else had similar and finally got their baby?

Thanks xxxx and good luck to everyone else waiting for a BFP xxx

huge hugs. I had 7 miscarriages and finally had my DS. Took 5 years of IVF all up. I had a few of my losses tested and it was chromosome issues as a lot of miscarriages are. My issue was severe endometriosis which had invaded and poisoned my ovaries and eggs so I was making abnormal babies sadly. Before the last IVF that became DS I took a heap of supplements in the 3 months prior. Basically anything thought to assist egg development. I'd met with the clinics embryologists (if that is the right name for them!) And from what I understood abnormal embryos come from an egg and or sperm that is already abnormal or a normal egg and sperm that during the cell dividing process at/after fertilisation turns abnormal. I took things like inositol, coq10, prescription melatonin... basically anything at that stage research was saying could help (and low likelihood of harm). I cant obviously know if that was the magic bullet or luck or both.

My hear goes out to you. I remember vividly even though DS is now 6.

I was about to also try PGD which was fairly new at the time. You dont say if you have been using IVF or if it may be an option but it is where they test the embryo's chromosomes and only transfer genetically normal embryos increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy. If this might be for you, chat to your FS.

All the very best.

I’m so sorry you’ve been going through this. We’ve been TTC #1 since Jan 2018 as well, and moved onto ivf about a year ago. I had one mmc due to chromosomal abnormality, and since then we’ve pgs tested, as mollysky explained but I was also tested both blood test and uterine biopsy for natural killer cells and found I had them. They started me on prednisone and blood thinners and it’s still very very early, but this cycle the embryo implanted and my hcg is rising appropriately. Autoimmune issues like NKC can cause early miscarriage and chemicals (I had one with a subsequent transfer between my mc and this one), and the prednisone and blood thinners work together to help implantation and early pregnancies to stick and not be rejected by the body’s immune system.

The last thing to check might also be if you and your partner are a dq alpha gene match, which can also cause cp and early mc. It’s so hard going through what feels like hundreds of tests and coming up with no answers.

I'm sorry, it's so hard. When trying for #1, I was doing IVF and had 4 mcs or chems and 4 failed transfers. I have PCOS but we didn't know why it wasn't working, whether it was embryo quality or my body. I think my FS suspected it was embryo quality, so she was surprised when I got 11 blasts tested (that number was beyond my wildest dreams), with 8 perfect and 2 no result. Just one had a chromosomal issue. I did the supplements in the lead-up to that too, and acupuncture and Chinese herbs.

With embryo quality ruled out, my FS added prednisolone, clexane and antibiotics to my protocol. I don't cycle naturally so there wasn't much point testing for NKC, so we treated it as if it was. Next transfer worked and gave me DD1.

Wishing you lots of luck.
