DS6 casually over breakfast one morning:

‘Soooo...I came out of your vagina did I?’

Ds is also a bit obsessed with death after the death of our pet earlier this year and keeps asking lots of questions. Today (after 100 other questions) it was “but WHY do people have to die mum”. Me: “I don’t know, there’s no answer to that.” Ds: “yes there is, just google it on your phone!”

I managed to answer that one! I said that 'life only has meaning because it ends'

And for a kidlet with dyslexia and a slower processing speed, it actually made bloody sense!!!

However, no matter how hard she tries, she just cannot say the qords

Specifically or Cooperate

Can't say this is funny exactly but took me a while to work out why DS was talking about a doorbell, turns out as a boy (ie I do not have one but his dad does) he owns one.

(I will leave it to your imagination to see if you can work out any quicker what it is)

Dongah?

I think she might have meant body part

One from DS, when he was about 5. He was helping me make the big bed and I was putting the quilt, which was a wedding present on the top, and I told him it was very precious because it had been made by hand.
A couple of days later, making the bed again:
DS: "Dis is very precious, isn't it, Mama?"
Me: "Yes! Do you remember why?"
DS: "I do! It was made out of hands!"

She obviously did but the child may have conflated someone calling it a 'donger' with a doorbell.

"Mum, is there a dinner that's just a plate with lots of naan on top of each other?"
"No"
"If there was I think everyone would like it"
...
...
...
"There should be. Why hasn't anyone invented that yet?"

asked DS for about the fourth time “what do you want for christmas” he responds

“don’t worry mum, Santa will KNOW...”

(* screams into the void “I AM SANTA”....she doesn’t know...)

We have an invisible red telephone only adults can use and all orders have to go through that

LB you are not alone.  I’ve had “I’ll let Santa decide.  He knows me very well “

So glad the Santa days are over.

DS has a new saying and definitely picked it up from my dad. Every time he drops something he'll say "buddy (bloody) hell" with the most hilarious and adorable conviction.

Just the other day he kept saying wanted "poky cake"... couldn't work out where he had a cake with polka dots. Reading too far into it. He wanted pancakes.
