What is wrong with my cat

Help! I know it is late but I am so upset. My almost 3 year old cat is currently hiding down a drain outside my house.
My neighbour came over when I got home from work not long ago to tell me my cat had been there all day and looked unwell. He is ☹ His tummy is so bloated, and he smells of urine (his nether region was all wet). I came inside to ring my vet and in that time he went back outside and went down the drain. I could see him with a torch but then he went even further away so now I can't see him.
I am so angry at myself for not closing the cat flap first but I was in a panic to call the vet and now i cant get to him.
What could be going on?? And so suddenly. Everything Google is upsetting me too much

He could possibly have a urinary blockage and needs urgent veterinary care. Can you try and get him at all or coax him out somehow?

How did you go last night bikingbubs? This sounds awful I’m sorry to hear your man is unwell.

I'm so sorry, I hope your cat came out. It definitely sounds like a urinary tract problem, they aren't uncommon unfortunately.

My cat had a urinary blockage from bladder stones and was bloated and so miserable. It happened so fast but they developed over quite a long time. Get to the vet asap. Our cats issue resolved without surgery and he now has a special diet. I hope your kitty is ok!

Your cat could have been hit by a car or attacked by a dog. I hope you managed to get him back and to the vet and I really hope he's OK.

I still can't get to him. My dad is coming over as soon as he can to help me try and lift the drain cover off. I have tried everything to get him out ☹ I don't want the kids to know just yet, but he always sleeps on my sons bed and he knew he wasn't there last night ☹

If he got in, he can get out.
When my boy was down the drain refusing to come out, I got the hose (not connected, no nozzle) and gently eased it down beside him.
It didn't make him go further down the drain, but made him come back out. My brother was waiting with the cat crate to capture him.
Worth a try

He can get out, it's his hangout spot so not worried about that. The difference being as soon as we get home he usually comes out and doesn't leave our side.
I have tried putting my arm down as far as I can with treats, and have tried to get a photo to see where he is but can only see the very end of his tail ☹ I feel so helpless.
Lucky I live at the end of a dead end street as I sit here on the road waiting patiently 😭😭😭

will he come with food in your hand? perhaps get some neighbours to help lift him out..

Worth trying to call Council. They may have emergency on call crew who can come out & remove drain lid (If there is one).

I'm so sorry, this must be excruciating for you :'(
Has he moved yet?
Posted 18 May 2019 - 07:15 PM
No he hasn't moved ☹ there is no way I can get to him without the cover off. I rang the council twice today and still haven't got a call back. It is massive, not a normal one.
Food hasn't even moved him out from his spot so I can at least see him. Usually he would do anything for his treats. Normally he would be waiting for us as soon as we got home.
I really hate to say it, but I think he has passed away. Of all the pics I have managed to get, his eyes are open and in the same position. I feel so so helpless.

Maybe I watch to much tv, but would the fire brigade be able to help?
Posted 18 May 2019 - 07:21 PM
Oh no I hope not. I am so, so sorry you are going through this

Could you ring the vet and ask them if they can suggest who to call/ what they suggest you do. Surely they would deal with this kind of situation a lot. If they could just reach him maybe they could give him some pain relief too.

Id try the ses or firies too. I'm so sorry, it's not fair.

My poor little boy is no longer with me 😪 I just don't understand - He seemed like his normal kitty self before I went to work yesterday. Even looking back I can't think of anything unusual. He ate well and slept with my son on Thursday night.
I still need to get him out somehow and it is going to pour with rain here tomorrow 😪😪😪😪😪😪😪 my kids will be devastated too.
