I feel so confused about it. Marian did sell her house and change her name so it is feasible that she wanted to disappear. At the same time I do feel for her daughter too. Any other thoughts?

Spoiler alert....

I don’t know what to think. The whole situation is truly bizarre. I thought maybe witness protection, but it seems they’ve looked into that (although I’d have thought it would be sooner). If Marion is out there, I guess she might be prompted to respond with this media scrutiny.

It is so intriguing as to what has happened. I hope the podcast gives Sally some answers

Do you think there is a chance she did molest boys? It makes me wonder about her relationship with her son too?

I’ve been listening while pottering today. It’s quite addictive.

I haven’t listened yet, just read the reddit thread about it. TSS sounds like a pretty awful place for those kids. I wonder if there’s much in the news about anonymous informants? Still, I don’t see why that would send her into hiding.

I read an article about this. So awful for the daughter not to have closure, sounds like the police did manage to find her at one point but obviously can't give any info due to privacy.

I'm listening to it now and there is some clear dislike for her from some people, clear love for her from others.

It sounds like she was a very sad woman in the time leading up to her disappearance.

Anyone heart the latest episode? What an emotional and awful time for Sally. I thought Mr Ramakel did sound guilty and he seemed to be using classic narcissist tactics. I do hope NSW police take this lead seriously!

I have been listening from the beginning. Such an intriguing case. I hope Sally gets her answers.

It sounds awfully suss. I think he knows a lot more than what he is telling so far.
I have about 10 minutes left on the epsidoe released today. I do hope he answers the questions.

I find it hard to believe Marion is still alive.

Oh I totally think he had something to do with this now. I really hope the NSW police try to get interpol involved now.

I don’t know what to think really.

But I did think his comments were strange? “Where would I hide her?”.
I do really dislike the way channel 7 is running with it. They spend so much time speculating for dramatic effect.

There are two new episodes which I listened to earlier today. I no longer listen to the conversations ones because it’s all just too whiny and pointless.

Now they think she might have gone into a different bank. Not commonwealth but Colonial State which was a different entity at the time.

I'm a podcast addict and I've been listening to this one as well.

It's a tricky one but unlike many situations personally I think she may honestly just disappeared herself.

I'm really struggling with this podcast. I have only listened to a couple of episodes.

I feel like the police and family (like her sisters, because they were very quick to accept it) know where Marion is or was but because previous protocol wasn't followed their hands are tied and now they really don't know where she is. They can't tell Sally her new persona because that's a breath of confidentiality.

Or witness protection.

I think I would be similar to Sally wanting answers but I don't think she will get the answers she requires and I really feel for Marion if she is still alive - her past is catching up fast and she might not be ready to confront that.

I do think you’re probably right that she had to or wanted to disappear.

ive listened to it. Very interesting

My theory is the whole romance-gone-wrong that they have alluded to.  After a stressful time at work, some evil man has swept her of her feet, in order to steal her assets.  He isolated her from her family (as abusers do) convinced her to go overseas, took control of her money (again, as abusers do) and then something has happened.  Not sure what, maybe she finally clued in, threatened to leave, whatever, but she has met with foul play and is now deceased.

So while originally she may have wanted to disappear, or at least majorly change her life, it wasn't in the end voluntary and it all went wrong.

The police made a big mistake in the beginning, by just going with the initial evidence, which was that she wanted to disappear, so they wrote her off. But with hindsight, and more awareness of abusive relationships and how they work, i think they are now hamstrung by their own incompetence ,and now have to jump through hoops before they can investigate properly.  And they are protecting themselves and trying to hide the true level of incompetence that was happening in their missing persons departments.

I really hope the truth comes out for the family.

I’ve been listening but not so much recently as the ‘conversations’ episodes are a bit of a drag. I’m torn between thinking that she wanted to disappear & that the police did confirm her identity (but not record it in the proper process at the time) and that she fell into a whirlwind relationship that ended in disaster for her.

I finished the whole thing recently.  It's such an odd situation. .I do think the police know more but can't tell them. I still think she's alive but wanted to disappear.

Okay, so there are updates. Has anyone listened? Are they actual updates or more meandering chats?

Just curious after the parents of the teenager Ursula something found out she died a few weeks after she went missing 30 years ago.

no real updates, though they've tracked down the ex wife of someone they've been looking for from the start. Also awaiting news on a coronial inquest but that could be months away.
