OMG I cannot believe their behaviour, how totally childish. I really hope they watch back and see what total arses they were.

It made sense to pick the girls, it gave them to get a chance back in the game and gave the boys a better chance to stay on top. If any of the other teams say they wouldn't have done it like that they would be lying. You wouldn't pick a team that could knock you off the top of the board.

I highly doubt the house was that unsafe for the child or family. The production team probably set it up to look worse than it was, as they usually do.

Pete and Courtney are terrible people  -  and seemingly proud of their behaviour

That was my exact thought too. Dance world is a small world and this could actually harm their business.  No way I would want to be part of their studio.

So did I. But Courtney has a bigger nose.

I find it funny how they try and attribute such large scale structural changes to decisions made by the teams.

Tonight they kept going on how great the high ceiling and velux sky lights and making it sound like the girls would have had input into that.

All of this would have been planned way in advance with little to no input from the contestants.

What is it with bulb lights facing upwards in dining areas?

I have never noticed it. I have one in my left eye. The Optometrist has been keeping an eye on it and said that unless it impedes on my sight, then just leave it. Unless of course I want it gone just for the sake of it.
Maybe Pete is the same.

I love how the boys had the "idea" to put in the sky lights and then suddenly the velux rep was standing there taking their order.

I have one in each eye, and have been told the same thing.

I noticed it immediately as his is encroaching on his cornea.
My husband has had 2 removed over the years because they were in fact growing at a rate that would impede his vision.

I actually the whole “strategic scoring” of the early room reveal by Shayn and Carly was a case of sneaky editing.  I reckon they speculated on scoring that way but in the end didn’t and the producers made it into a big thing.  They have denied it.

I don’t think as a viewer of a reality tv show you can take anything at face value - except Pete and  Courtney do seem to be actual nasty people.  I find Courtney’s adoration and agreement of everything Pete says nauseating and abit weird actually!

Overall I really like what they have done in this house but I HATE the plywood, don't get what everybody sees in it, looks so cheap to me.

#66 Heather11

Dislike the rainforest wall.  How are you going to keep it clean as I'm sure it will collect dust?

The kids corner was a nothing corner too.  Was there even a little table and chair for her to sit at and draw or use playdoh?  I also agree with Wendy regarding the lack of storage in the area.  Some of those Ikea trofast storage systems that can then be removed when she grows up would have done.

That play corner was total rubbish. I also thought the whole concept was odd. Why not just tell the lounge room team to incorporate a kiddy corner?

I too am not blown away by the plywood rood, I do love the skylights though.

It is a bit sad when the guest bedroom was more glamorous than the master.

I like both the bottom teams but think Lisa and ? will go home.

I like the plywood ceiling!
The rainforest bathroom on the other hand - with a 'wet room' for the shower ... I can just see the mould growing up the brick fireplace!

#69 WTFancie shmancie

The plastic plant wall is a dust allergy just waiting to happen.

I'm not a fan of wet rooms at all.  Why anyone wants to spread water (and possibly soapy water) as far as possible is just beyond me.

#70 Ollie83

That bathroom would annoy me, the plant wall I can imagine will be very hard to keep dust and possibly mould free? An open shower and tiles and a young family would drive me batty too.

I don’t know a lot about that part of the world but to me the value of $430,000 (?) seemed huge for the before value?  Are country homes there really that expensive?

Not to mention that their before reno price was higher than the after reno price of Lisa and Andy's place.

I must admit I thank my lucky stars that I live in SA where house prices are not astronomical..

Exactly right! I’m in country Vic, the before renovation version here in my town would be worth around $50,000.

Their place was 40 minutes to Canberra, I just can’t see the value in that house. Now with the renovations it’s fair enough, but 3/4’s of a mil is still massive for the location?

Edit, I just looked on real estate website, nope that’s what places are really worth there & then some!

I like Katie and Alex and that they got a beautiful home but if I were the other teams I would be miffed at how much they got compared to them.

Was that bed in the master a double?  It looked so small.

It looks like they are going straight to another house reno, similar to last year. They used to do 24 hours fix ups next but that was scrapped last year and looks to be scrapped this year too. They seem to be making over a house for a family that look like they lost their house to a fire.

Someone will likely go home after this house and then the final 4 teams will probably reno each other's front and back yards.

Oh and with the value of Katie and Alex's house, I wonder if their home is on a big block and the land was making up most of the value at the start.
