I like both. Ayla will be pronounced as Isla I guess. I really like the meaning of Arina too : peace.

What do you mean I guess? I think you need to be clear on the pronunciation of a name first up! Otherwise you will confuse yourself.

Never heard of Arina. Is that like Karina, without the K?

Ayla as eye-la. but still I know some people pronounce it as Aa la, which I dont like.

thats right about Arina.

I would pronounce it Aye-la.

Never heard of Arina but reminds me of Arena

Ayla and Isla are two different names- of you dont like the 'aye- la' pronounciation, I would avoid it. Arina sounds lovely, too, but I havent heard it before.

There is a piece of music called Ayla (on You Tube).

I believe Ayla is pronounced AY-La. There are some YouTube interpretations.

Maybe it is better than Arina (potential for taunts there.. "Hey Tina Arena!" "Whats playing tonight, Arena!"). Ayla.. people have probably forgotten the Earth Children's series so might be a better choice.

Dislike both.

Ayla is Clan of the Cave Bear for me. Truly awful series of books.

If you like the Eye-lah pronunciation, I'd definitely suggest spelling is Isla. The name Ayla to me is pronounced Ay-la, just as it's spelled.

Not a fan of Arina because it reminds me of Arena.

What about:

Ida
Aria?

Prefer Megan to both.  I'd like Arina if we didn't have the word arena.

Not a fan of Ayla.  I really like Irena if you can stretch to that.

Sorry Ayla is AY-la, as a person who has Ay as the first 2 letters of my name and even then I also get called "Eye" or "As". Stick with Isla if that's how you want it pronounced.

My first thought on pronunciation would be Ay-la. As the most common spelling for Isla is I-S-L-A, I would never even think of pronouncing Ayla that way.

Ayla pronounced Ay-la is quite popular at the moment, I know of quite a few. I definitely don’t think people will pronounce it Isla.
Arina is not my style and not a name I have heard of before but if you like it, use it!

I prefer Megan to them both. I think Isla or Aria are better than Ayla or Arina. I know a lady Erina, I prefer that or Erin, but Megan is best

As I said in other thread, before reading this one - I would expect Ayla to be pronounced to rhyme with Kayla, Tayla etc.

Isla ( pronounced eye- la or island without the nd)  is a nice name - but spell it Isla.

Not a fan of Arina.

Karina is nice.

Karina is nice or even Sarina, marina or Larina

They both seem incomplete to me. Like Marina or Tayla missing a letter?

Some of us are old enough to remember Flash in the Pan.

Some of us are even old enough to remember when The Easybeats were big.  (sob!)

Oh they did a song called Alya i mean not Isla.

Was a bit of a hit.

I don't like Arina. To me it feels incomplete or a mis-spelling. Ayla would be pronounced AY-la not EYE-la

How about Irina. It’s a mix of Isla & Arina and a traditional Russian name.

Isla is lovely and there is no confusion over pronunciation or spelling.

Also like Arianna.
