To any fellow Kiwis out there - esp if you have family in Chch - there is a current shooting at a Mosque in Chch (near Hagley Park - nearby schools are in lockdown) - here's the link to the Stuff website:

https://www.stuff.co...in-christchurch

The first reports coming in are that several people have been killed :(

What is the world coming to ?  This is beyond awful.

Awful.  I hope they catch the perpetrators quickly before any more innocent lives are lost.  :(

It’s sounding utterly horrific.
Praying it doesn’t escalate further.

This is just awful.

Christchurch has been through such heartbreak already.

So sad.  Watching on ABC24 now.

These unfolding situations are so scary for all involved.

I'm watching ABC24 as well.
I hope the situation is controlled and there is nothing further ,particularly the second mosque they keep mentioning.

Gutless, cowardly prick.

Yes,a very disturbing manifesto.

Frightening, hateful words that are very familiar to those who follow politics and right wing groups on the internet.

Injuries at two locations.

So sad. Makes me very angry, Christchurch is with a beautiful city full of wonderful people and they have been through enough.

How horrific and how heartbreaking.

And you know even just from the headline that it is going to be white supremacist incels.  Probably with a known history of petty violence or domestic violence.

Eta:  and let’s call this what it is - an act of terrorism, inspired by ideology, against one specific part of NZ’s population.

How horrible.

Don't read the Facebook comments. Whoever thinks this country doesn't have a racism problem are very wrong.

Heartbreaking, Christchurch is a beautiful place. Do NZ have tight gun laws like Australia? Althoughly, scarily I think we’ve relaxed our laws a bit out of complacency and this is a big wake up call.

From the Guardian

'No one in NZ must go to a mosque under any circumstances,' says police commissioner

Police commissioner Mike Bush has warned: “No one in the country must go to a mosque under any circumstances.”
