I may have fallen into some bookkeeping work, but I’m set up yet. Very small client, really can’t see it being a lot of work but I’m hoping word of mouth might spread. Any suggestions on where to start?
Thanks for any advice

Are you registered with the Tax Practitioners Board as a BAS Agent? Very hefty fines if you are working as a bookkeeper and charging clients for any work that has anything to do with GST. Even coding items with "tax" or "no tax" in a system like Xero or MYOB can be classified as offering BAS Services. If they are getting an accountant to lodge their BAS you might be OK but if they are self lodging based on the work you are doing then you might be in trouble.
