Thank goodness it's not just me already suffering some baby brain! I'm trying to write an essay and keep forgetting how to spell simple words... This will be a long pregnancy!

I'm 32 and in Canberra. This is our first baby so we are both very nervous and excited! I'm also self-conscious about my body already, having gained 10kg in the 12 months before I got pregnant (newlywed bliss?). I'm now trying to accept the fact that I won't be losing it anytime soon :( I'm focusing on eating well for the baby, not for weight loss.

I purchased my first lot of unisex baby clothes today - they were on special!

Sorry for TMI, but has anyone else had a goldeny light brown type of creamy discharge. I’ve had it on and off and just again now a few times when I wiped and it’s freaking me out. I noticed my morning sickness has been slightly less severe the last two days too.
I pulled me scan forward to next Wednesday. Can’t come soon enough!

Edited to add: I googled this and the weirdest thing happened. A post I made on EB in 2011 came up and I had the same thing at the same gestation. My now 6 year old is sitting next to me! That was really bizarre.

So glad that everything is okay sweetpea, hopefully little bean doesn't give you any more scares like that!

JCH86 - I'm definitely getting the Harmony test done, $500 for some peace of mind when it comes to baby is money well spent IMO! Also, I am 22 and based in SA :)

First scan is only 9 days away now and I am so excited and really trying to hold off from moving it up. Officially 6 weeks along today and my pregnancy app just sent me a notification saying that our babe's heart would have just started beating and I cried a little lol can't wait to see it for real!

This is the first babe for us as well and whilst I'm trying to eat as healthy as I can, I just cannot. do. vegetables. well I can't at the moment anyway. Usually I try and eat super clean during the week and have some treats with DH on the weekend but at the moment it is just whatever I can get down. For all the other ladies who are struggling with sickness, the doc said to me the other day that as long as you are taking your prenatal, you should be fine. He also suggested having a glass or two of 100% fruit & vegetable juice if you can stomach it and so far that has been working for me :)

Also I swear my boobs have already doubled in size!!! Is anyone else getting this too??

Lilpuddin, I have been anti veg too. I’ve been enjoying more fruit than usual though so hopefully that’s ok. Not sure if it’s coincidental but I didn’t take my prenatal vitamin yesterday or today and my nausea doesn’t seem as bad. I’ll take it tonight and see if it flares up, I’ve heard some ladies feel worse when they have them!

And yep..my boobs are a lot fuller and everything is feeling heaps tighter already!

Thanks everyone for all your nice comments. This group is delightful.

On the Harmony test, yes, I’m planning on doing a NIPT, not sure which one yet. I’ve got my 6w scan with the fertility specialist on Monday and I’m going to ask her a bunch of questions then about pre-natal testing.

I’m 36, from Melbourne. This will be our first. Still practising cautious optimism after all the effort to get here.

Are people going private or public? We’re zoned for the Royal Women’s so think I’ll go public having heard such great stuff about them.

Hope you’re all doing well. After the scare yesterday it’s all settled down for me, not cramping, not really nauseous, but am exhausted and my boobs are starting to seem a bit unnecessarily large. 😳

Hi all. I'm tentatively saying hello..

A big congrats to you all.

4w1d for me today. Doctor and calculators have me due date on 19 June however my cycle has been 27 days since my miscarriage earlier this year so I'm going with June 18 which happens to be DH'S birthday. I ovulated either on my birthday or the day after so if all goes well it would be very sweet to say conceived on mum's birthday and  born on dad's :)

I'm 34 and from Melbourne. This is my third pregnancy, I have a spunky 8 year old son, as mentioned we suffered a missed miscarriage earlier this year.

I've been to the gp and had a blood test yesterday. HCG at 170. My GP is happy with that number this early on and wants me retested in a week. When I go in for the results pending how they are she will give me a referral for an U/S at 7 weeks. I felt a lot better knowing I'll be scanned earlier. My first scan in my last pregnancy was the viability scan as part of the NIPT test st 10.3weeks and that was that day that we got the bad news that baby had stopped growing at 6.3 weeks.

To anyone who's had a scan at 7 weeks. Could baby and heart beat be seen and heard?? I know one early scans don't see much.

Welcome A&J+! Hope your pregnancy is smooth sailing!

Hi ThatChick! I’m fairly sure both my first two kids had scans around 7 weeks or even in the later end of 6th week and had heart beats. I’m having a scan next Wednesday and I’ll be about 7.5weeks. I’m fairly certain if there’s a heartbeat they’d be able to see it by then. My app says day 35 after conception is roughly when it starts beating. I may have had internal ultrasounds for them to see it though.

In other news, it appears my boobs have grown 2 sizes over night. Literally just flopped out. Guess I’m going bra shopping this weekend!

Congrats and welcome to all the recent bfp's!

Good news sweetpea, it's hard not to stress about everything especially when you've come through ac to get here. With my girl i spotted everyday until about 14 weeks with a big bleed at 10 weeks, it was unnerving but nothing to worry about. We're going public again,  had a really great experience last time.

Babyk if you're taking elevit or something like that it's  quite possibly making your nausea worse, it's pretty common. My doctor told me you only need folic acid and iodine and you can get those as single vitamins, it's a lot easier on your stomach.

Thatchick with the last one we saw the heartbeat at a scan around 7 weeks,  I think any earlier than that is a bit hit and miss.

I finally told my husband yesterday and he's actually really happy and excited,
I'm still pretty stressed out having 2 so close together, just gotta put my big girl pack pants on and deal with it.

This is my 3rd pregnancy, lost the first one around 6 weeks,  we have a 6 month old girl,  and a 9 year old stepson. I'm 39 and in sydney.

MissTR my two oldest are 16 months apart it wasn’t as hard as I had imagined it would be to be honest they are now 7 and 5.5 and I have a 1 year old as well as 3 step sons (8, 6 and 3)

I will make an appointment with my doctor in the next week or two and get a scan after I should be 7 weeks so there’s more chance of getting a heart beat! The scan doesn’t put my mind at ease without a heart beat not since my MC in 2010.

We told my parents today :/ my father literally asked us why!

#61 BabyK32B

Posted 12 October 2018 - 05:43 PM

MissTR yes I’ve heard that also so skipped a couple of days to see if it made a difference and I still felt blerch. I’m pretty sure I had some nausea with the first two kids but this ones been the worst. I already feel super bloated and like a whale too. Not a great look for a fitness trainer, struggling with that a little!

Thanks BabyK32B and MissTR. I vaguely remember having a scan with ds8 all those years ago but I believe it would have been around the 8 week mark.

Due to how my last pregnancy ended I'm a little anxious. I'm 4w3d and whilst I know it's still very early days I'm not experiencing any symptoms. No breast swelling or pain no bloating. The only changes are the obvious lack of AF and one thing that's new and very different for me is my sleeping or there lack off. I've just come off an 8 hour shift at 8pm. Ive been on my feet all day and whilst my body is tired as anything I feel so awake. I've been waking up early in the morning and once I open my eyes I'm just all buzzy. I've also been having the MOST bizarre dreams. Has anyone experienced anything like this??

#63 BabyK32B

Posted 12 October 2018 - 09:53 PM

ThatChick. I was symptomless until about 5.5 weeks and then I’ve had nausea every day since, already put on weight, so bloated, boobs are huge. I’m not any more tired than usual ..or maybe I’m just used to being tired haha.
The first few months are so stressful. I find the whole thing until you feel them kicking frequently and anxious wait!
I had a bleed at what I guess was about 5.5 weeks by my ovulation dates, but by standard text book cycles I was 6 weeks. The dr sent me for a scan anyways and they could only see the yolk sac which was about right for what I was guessing, maybe even a day or two earlier again. I have another scan next Wednesday which will be 2 weeks apart..but it feels like it’s been months! Hopefully I’ll have an actual EDD then!

Edited to add, for about a week after my missed period, I had a weird extra amount of energy. Insomnia is a bit hit and miss lately. Sometimes I zonk out quickly but other days it takes me ages to fall asleep.

Hi everyone!

Tentatively joining you all here - very early days.

I got my BFP today, but I'm not 100% sure how far along I am yet. We have a 15 month old son, and I have only had 3 cycles since my periods came back. I only counted the days in my last cycle, so I don't know how regular they were.

I actually thought I was getting my period a couple of days ago because I was cranky and cramping, but it turns out I was wrong! I've also had a tiny bit of nausea (which was the same at 4 weeks in my last pregnancy), and I and I have been seriously fatigued the last few days.

By my count my due date should be about 22 June, and I think that makes me about 4 weeks along, maybe 5? It was a strong positive on the stick, so potentially closer to 5.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome and congrats amelie.

Thatchick the insomnia is my earliest symptom, i usually sleep really well, but have had insomnia in the first trimester with all my pregnancies, I  also get this almost narcolepsy sleepy patch around 8pm every night, and the vivid dreams are a thing for sure.

My breast milk has gone berserk, I had stopped feeding almost a month before getting pregnant and was already fully dried up now it's back but I don't want to go back to feeding so I'm having to Express a lot. Otherwise I don't even feel pregnant either.

Hi everyone

I'm 4w5d pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy for the year, miscarried in January, May and September so very hopeful this one can stick around. My beta HCG at 16dpo was 321.9 and I have my first scan booked for the 23rd.

My biggest symptom this time around has been hot flushes and sweating. Got a little bit of nausea that comes and goes and have been a little sick a couple of times.

Woo hoo! Great news! Was that an internal ultrasound - if so, was it uncomfortable?

I am 5w today. Was feeling nervous as my symptoms all died off last week. I did a pregnancy test this morning and was pleased to see that it has increased since from initial test from 'Pregnant 1-2 weeks' to 'Pregnant 3 weeks+'. Have my Dr appt in two weeks time when I am 7w and I've got my fingers crossed it's all smooth sailing.

Welcome and congratulations to the new additions to the June group <3

sweetpea - great news ! you must be really happy :) when is your next scan or appointment?

jch86- I have done the same, watched the clearblue go from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks to 3+ weeks, as I have nothing else to do! I also feel like some days I have more symptoms than others, I think it's normal.

AFM - I am 6 weeks tomorrow, can't believe it! feeling super tired, some waves of nausea every now and again and very hot.

My scan is next Wednesday when I'll be 7+1. Only 9 days to go! Can't wait to find out what's going on in there :)

Sweetpea, that's amazing news, so happy to hear that everything looks good and that you could hear the heartbeat!!

JCH, I have also done the same with the clearblue tests, anything for peace of mind at this stage is worth it I think lol. Fx your Dr appointment comes around quickly and everything is good!

Fingerscrossed, how exciting that your scan is less than 2 weeks away now, not long to go!

AFM I have my first scan this Friday at 7+2 so will be 7 weeks on Wednesday eeeeeeee!! Provided everything looks good on Friday, I think I can see the light at the end of the first trimester tunnel!

In other news, I went bra shopping on the weekend because nothing I own fits at the moment (except my sports bra aka heaven) and I got measured and I have already gone up a FULL CUP SIZE. OMG. I know its super early but I also did a little maternity clothes shopping online as well because it's now less than three weeks before we leave for Hawaii and nothing I bought before I got pregnant is looking good right now as the bloated "baby belly" is real!

I hope everyone is doing well and also welcome and congrats to the June newbies

#71 FingersCrossed123

Posted 15 October 2018 - 03:41 PM

Lilpuddin - I have gone up a whole cup size too in the first week pretty much, found an old bra in the back of the cupboard. Also bought the next cup size up because they seem to still be growing. This baby is going to be all boobs and no belly lol!!

I also ordered some maternity clothes on asos/iconic just to try and put away for later if they are good. I have wide hips so often find it hard to get good fitting clothes and i don't want to be stuck when the current clothes get too uncomfortable.

Good luck everyone with a scan coming up, and congratulations if yours has already gone well! For anyone worried about the internal US, don't stress. It was absolutely fine and there was very little discomfort.

I had my 6-ish week scan on Friday and it was a little bit of a worry. By FF I should have been 5 weeks 6 days, but apparently the baby is measuring 5 weeks 4 days. I know it is only 2 days out, but I am worried! The OB said it will most likely be fine, I may have ovulated a little later. I was completely panicking thinking FF was completely right and my baby is non-viable... but then I took a deep breath and checked my FF chart again. I had another, more dramatic temp rise 2 DPO so there is a chance I O'd on that day and there is nothing to worry about :) I'll just keep thinking that and hope everything is fine at my follow up scan in 2.5 weeks.

A positive note though - it has a heartbeat! We could see the tiny little flicker! My husband cried, but I was just too worried about the small measurement at the time.

Has anyone had experience with a baby measuring a tiny bit behind at 6 weeks?

Hi everyone!

I am 6w+4 today (I think?) I have my scan on Thursday. We have one gorgeous little girl already (currently nearly 23 months), whom we were super lucky to conceive through our first round of IVF-ICSI (she was our first frozen embryo transfer). Decided to go for no.2 and to our amazement, first time trying - wamo bamo! I am very apprehensive and paranoid, because I hadn't felt anything for ages! Now I feel mostly queasy and have an ongoing headache pretty much non-stop..... I also had a double burger and large chips from Nandos today and wasn't even full (this is concerning he he)

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and that I am very panicky about a second baby, even though I am so excited and happy. I work full time (bubs 1 in daycare) and as we run our own business I have to go straight back to work as I did with no. 1 (had her at home with me till 15 months, working all sorts of odd hours). As she still wakes 3-6 times a night, I am beginning to worry what have I gotten myself into !!!!

Hope everyone is feeling great! So lovely to see some familiar names on here too!

PS Google says my due date is 3/6/19, but I will wait for the scan on Thursday to find out!

Thanks Fingers - next scan is in two weeks. I’m going public, so no obstetrician scans after I leave my fertility specialist until prenatal testing phase, so I think she’s let us hang around on her books for a bit for peace of mind. I really like her.

JCH86 - thanks, it was a transvaginal scan, but with my history of fertility stuff etc., I’m pretty used to them by now. I don’t find it particularly uncomfortable. It’s just a bit awkward and you’re acutely aware of the fact that you’ve got a probe up your vagina 🤷🏼‍♀️. It doesn’t hurt (or shouldn’t) and is normally pretty straightforward.

Congrats Lucky! Very exciting! Hope all progressing well. I’m still finding it fairly surreal.

Babyclicks, I didn’t get told we were measuring behind, but I wouldn’t be too worried if they weren’t. It’s very likely that you ovulated at a slightly different time and I understand exactness is tricky when it’s so small. One of the few benefits of IVF is that you know exactly what day you are, so we’re spared that lack of accuracy in the early stages. Plenty of downsides, obviously 😬.

Thanks lilpuddin, and really good luck for the scan. It’s genuinely lovely to see what’s happening in there!

xx

I had my first ultrasound earlier this week and measured one day behind (6+1 instead of 6+2.)
I'm not worried at all though, because they say the dating is generally accurate within 3-5 days, so it could either be normal variation, or a slightly different ovulation date like you mentioned.

Being a worrywart myself, I've done plenty of googling and found tons of reassuring examples of people measuring differently who ended up with perfectly healthy babies, or even switched to measuring larger than average just a few weeks later.
I've also read that the scans are most accurate from 8-11 weeks, so hopefully your follow up scan will give you some extra peace of mind. :)

I was just happy that we were able to see anything at all because I could only have the abdominal scan, and we were able to see the heartbeat just from that! :D
