Baby_Clicks / mill85 - great news on your results girls. I'm having mine this coming Monday. Can I ask how long you both waited?

I had mine taken on Tue morning and they were back exactly 7 days later. It was a faster turnaround than I expected, they had said up to 10 business days.

Fingerscrossed: I’m so sorry to hear your news, I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. Take as much time as you and your partner need xoxox

Welcome to any newbies!

Has anyone had a gut instinct that something was wrong?
I’ve not been able to shake the feeling that something is up. I can’t really explain it but I feel like I’m going to find out something unexpected?
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and I’m feeling really anxious about it.
I’m not sure if it’s because being my third I’m more busy and don’t have time to worry as much..and I feel guilty that if I don’t worry then something will be wrong. I realise how weird and silly that sounds now I write it down!
Last night I dreamt the baby had Down Syndrome. I know this is just a dream and could mean nothing and I also know this wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it’s really shaken me. I’ve had many dreams in the past that have been true (I know that sounds woo woo to some people) so I’m quite worked up that I’m trying to be pre warned something is up.
I hope it’s all just nonsense in my mind and things are totally fine! I’m a little scared about tomorrow and can’t really explain why. I should be feeling excited!

Hi BabyK, I must admit I feel the same. I deliberately made our 12 week scan for 13 weeks so I would definately know for sure if it would be ok or not. But now I wish I made it earlier, I’m hoping I’m just being paranoid but it is hard when I don’t really feel pregnant. I’m supposed to be weaning off all my ivf meds but what if they’re the only thing that’s keeping me going?!

Sorry for the radio silence, I’ve been on this work trip for the past three weeks and being away from home, plus exhausted and working long hours has really impacted on my ability to post. But, I’ve been lurking away!

Welcome to all those who have joined recently and congrats to all those who have had great NIPT results and scans.

ShellBabyO - I’m totally with you on the meds! I am meant to finish them this Sunday at 12w and I am sh*tting myself! Going from 800mg of progesterone a day to NONE! Surely that’s a terrible idea, right?! Aaaaaargh! I keep telling myself to chill out, but this end of first trimester thingy is making me a bit cray, I think.

I’ve got the 12w scan and NIPT blood draw on Monday (didn’t want to do it whilst away), so am feeling a bit confronted. Looking forward to being more of an active participant here once I’m back in my normal routine.

Lots of positive vibes for you all. And good luck with scans and bloods. xx

BabyK - I felt like that from the day I got my BFP. I actually had to make a conscious decision at 9 weeks to just not worry. I still worried lol but it was worth a try! My doctor had to give me a mini counseling session one day - he told me his wife had one healthy pregnancy, then 4 unexplained miscarriages in a row. He said that he is a doctor, and still could not do anything to prevent the miscarriages. So what is the point in me worrying about it? It was all a bit “what will be will be”, so nothing mind blowing, but for some reason it helped me. Which is surprising because I usually need statistics and peer reviewed data to convince me of anything! Good luck with your scan today - may the statistics be with you xx

Shellbaby - I was the same coming off mine. It was only Clexane, but I was having it because I had high counts of killer cells. I was paranoid that as soon as I stopped, my body would kill the baby! Doc was right though I guess because it’s been two weeks and everything is fine :-)

Sweetpea - best of luck with your scan, hope your little bean is having an active day and puts on a good show for you xx

AFM - I had my first OB appt on Wednesday, all went well but he did tell me I may have to birth under the specialist team due to a couple of risk factors. I don’t want to be too cynical but I have been warned by friends that this often means “you’ll be getting a caesarian because you’re old” lol. Will have to wait and see. He has me on half an Aspro clear a day I can’t remember why!

I also had my NT scan yesterday. Measurement was 1.6mm which I think is good but I am now waiting for the combined blood/scan results. Baby brain is in full force though and I have realized I haven’t actually asked anyone when I can expect those results. I guess I will calling the doc to find that out!

Pretty happy to be past the scary 12 week mark and have begun thinking about Ames and  how/when to announce. Happy thoughts :-)

Hope you are all well - and continue to be! Xx

How did you go today sweetpea8?

I also had my 12 week scan today and all was good. Massive relief!

Stimstar and Mill85, so pleased your scans went well. Congrats!

Yep, mine was also excellent. Was such a relief. Also finished all my estrogen and progesterone support yesterday, so am feeling relieved about that too. Was so excited, I failed to ask many questions, but the NT looked okay (1.58) and it had arms and legs and a brain developing, so yay!

Now just waiting for the NIPT test results which I’m expecting on Thursday. 😬Excited to find out sex and hoping for low risk on all the chromosomal abnormalities.

Have a lovely week all! And good luck to those heading to scans in the next days/weeks.

To everyone:
How exciting! Everyone’s scans have gone so well I’m so happy for you all.

Afm: spent my birthday today throwing up. Feeling so far behind you all at only 9 weeks. Excited for upcoming tests.
I get to stop my estrogen Monday and then starting at 12 weeks I wean off my pessaries (my ob doesn’t believe in suddenly stopping) and then off the progesterone injections by 14 weeks so I still have a bit to go. So many ivf bubs in this group!

Hi girls,

Just checking in. Great to hear all the lovely updates of positive looking scans!

13 weeks today...so entering 2nd trimester. I’m still feeling nauseous 24/7 though. Now trying maxalon which is doing nothing. Seriously want this MS to bugger off.
I forget what it’s like to feel normal after 8 weeks of feeling borderline spewy!

Happy belated birthday Adgirl. Such a shame you spent it so sick though but it’ll all be worth it in the end. I can join you in the only 9 week camp. I feel like the next 3 weeks are going to drag and I cannot wait to tell my colleagues so that I can stop pretending that my suits fit and can just wear a potato sack to the office.

I hope your MS gets better BabyK32B. Perhaps if the macaron doesn’t work, your dr may consider ondansetron wafers. That stuff is magic. A few of my friends spent their entire pregnancies taking it but I think some drs are reluctant to prescribe it unless nothing else works.

Adgirl - happy birthday for the other day! Exciting to be getting close to the end of the meds. I’ve been off mine now for three days and apart from being pretty moody, am feeling great. Hoping some of the bloating subsides.

BabyK32B - wow! Second trimester! I’m sorry you’ve been feeling so sick, got my fingers crossed for you that you’ll turn the corner soon into the energy burst and happy non-pukey bit of pregnancy.

Maybebabyttc#1 - oh, man, I am well relaxed into the pregnancy sacks and it is the best. Good luck for the final few weeks before the big reveal and the end of waistbands! Also, I haven’t been having indigestion and heartburn but the bloating and constipation are getting oooooold.

AFM - I’m away with my partner and the dog for a week down the beach as a bit of a recovery/relax after a gruelling three week work trip away. I’m so impatient about the NIPT results. I know I won’t get them until Thursday, but it does not stop me from constantly checking my phone. 🙄

Hope everyone else is going well and at least some of us and getting into the easing off of nausea phase. xx

Had my 12 week scan yesterday. Everything is looking great. Baby is measuring yet another day ahead of already adjusted due date! My first was tiny and failed to thrive (hideous term) for 13 months and now I fear I’m going to have a super chunky marshmallow baby by June!

We found out it’s a boy last week with NIPT results, but if we hadn’t, the dear boy was not shy in showing off his manhood yesterday - it was so clear and obvious! Even the sonographer was laughing! We’ve already finalised his name too, so I’d be quite happy to fast forward to June and skip past being huge and uncomfortable over the coming months.

Hi All, congrats to everyone who has had good scans. We had ours yesterday too and amazingly everything was great. Almost can’t believe it and I know some of you are the same after having bad news in the past.

Planning how to tell our daughter now, she has recently:
1. Made herself a LifeSize paper cutout of a girl called Isobel, because she “has no brother or sister or anyone to talk to” and then insisted on having Isobel sleep next to her.
2. Cried herself to sleep for two nights in a row because we “won’t get her a dog tomorrow” ahh.. that’s because mums pregnant but we’re not telling you yet. We just told her it’s because we don’t have a front fence.

And thirdly another tantrum because we wouldn’t go to England to get the real Waffle, the dog star of the new abc kids program,  and take him from his real English family for her.  After the ultrasound hubby just kept saying, ‘what have we done? We’re too old for another baby!!’ I’m thrilled and am itching to buy a new onesie in a baby section.

Happy belated bday Adgirl too and I hope the nausea is a bit better for you as well as BabyK and the clexane weaning is going ok for you Sweetpea.

Unbelievable that we have a brain, spine and heart growing and pumping away inside of us and we just look a bit overweight!

ShellBaby - Hilarious. We have a similar situation happening. Our son was playing a 2-player board game the other day. When I asked what he was doing, he said “I’m playing with my pretend brother. I’m winning. My pretend brother isn’t winning”. He’s also spontaneously cried before because he has no siblings. It’s his birthday today, but I’m still only 9.5 weeks and have a potential complicating issue, so unforunately we can’t give him what he wants just yet!

For those who did the NIPT and first trimester screen, how far in advance of the FTS ultrasound did you have your blood draw?

I had blood drawn for the FST panel at 10 weeks when they took a sample for the NIPT. I had my 12 week scan today at 13 weeks, so there was 3 weeks on the dot between bloods and the combined results.

The scan today went really well. NT was 1.9, so combined with our NIPT results we have approximately a one in a million chance of DS. We were also relieved to hear that our little girl has two arms, two legs and everything appears to be in the right place! She was very active during the scan but managed to stay still enough for some measurements.

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up!

We have ours coming up. Blood draw at 11+1 and scan at 12 + 4, so 10 days in between.

Perfect. I had my blood draw today for the NIPT at 10+1 and the ultrasound is booked for 12+3 so hopefully it’ll all work out well.

I haven't posted since early on but I've enjoyed checking for updates every day and keeping up with everyone's stories!
I've considered posting a few times but I felt a bit silly complaining when there are others out there who have it way worse than me! I know that's what these boards are for but I think I just hoped I'd have something positive to say soon. (Which I do now!) Plus, I have a very supportive partner who has been dutifully listening to my daily complaints. :p

So here is my positive news!

Firstly, I'm officially out of the first trimester by all definitions! (14+3 today!)
All I can say is... good riddance! Some of my symptoms are still hanging around but I do think things are improving and I'm crossing my fingers for the breezy second trimester we all read about!

Baby is looking healthy so far and we had a low risk NT scan!

I've felt truly "clucky" this week for the first time since I've been pregnant! I was clucky ALL THE TIME before I was pregnant, but my focus quickly shifted to just surviving the pregnancy symptoms and obsessively worrying about if the baby was okay in there. I've been bonding with the idea of the baby who's living inside me, but I hadn't really been having any positive fantasies about the baby after they actually enter the world... mostly just terror about all the things that could go wrong!
Well, we recently did our first baby shopping, including some cloth nappies. They arrived in the mail and they are just SO CUTE AND TINYYYY! It's the first time I've really been able to feel just EXCITED and focus on the less serious side of just enjoying a tiny, adorable human!
It's just a little thing, but it really made me feel happy and brought a bit of relief from all my stressing!

Hi y'all! I have been lurking for a few weeks and thought I would make an account and introduce myself. I'm 27 from QLD and due in mid June (12+1 today!). This is my/our first pregnancy and everything is new and just a little overwhelming!

I've enjoyed keeping up with all your stories but have delayed making an account as I haven't had much to say as a FTM. I've had some nausea and fatigue but otherwise pretty ok symptoms... however, boy have I had some insane indigestion/bloat! Feeling like I look well ahead of my dates and struggling to hide the pregnancy from family/friends. I'm up 2kg and a full cup size and have to wear my loosest pants or a belly band.

I didn't do NIPT, haven't had a BHCG since my GP confirmed the pregnancy, and only saw a wee blob with a heartbeat on our dating scan at 7 weeks... so I'm hoping bub is doing ok in there! I'm booked for a nuchal translucency scan next Monday, and can't wait to see how things are going, and how bub has been growing. I'm being cautiously optimistic, but I'm also aware we could be in for some bad news. Pending the results we will begin telling family/friends... not quite sure yet how to go about this! The idea of waiting until Christmas is very tempting indeed, but if all is well I might just want the world to know! I told a stranger in a restaurant and it felt so good  .

RE: timing of bloods and FTS as above - the radiology provider asked me to get the bloods taken 3-5 days before the scan. I'm hoping this is right as the GP gave me absolutely no instructions at all .

Leafy 7 - congrats on making it out of the first trimester, and so glad everything is going well xx

Hey all!
Glad to hear about all the healthy babies!!!

I had my 10 week scan Monday and this boofer was measuring 5 days bigger at 10 + 5 so my date has been adjusted. Did my NIPT Monday and found out we are having a healthy baby boy

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all feeling well.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had an early urine test show up with +++ for glucose. I don’t know the results from the last urine test 2 weeks ago (I’m hoping that if it was concerning, the midwife would’ve called me) but I’m just worried about gestational diabetes.

#275 ShellBaby-O

Hey Maybebaby, can’t say that I have- did you get any more results at a follow up appt? Have you had your ultrasound yet?  I had high blood sugar one test and so had to do a fast, but it turned out it was probably due to a massive cheese toasted sandwich I had on the way to the test for breakfast. I learnt from my lecture that apparently high levels of fat get turned into sugar quick!

Welcome docbee, how did the test go? Glad to hear things are going well leafy. I think after our good news we are all focusing on feeling a bit normal- I know I have. I told everyone at our staff Xmas party and I still don’t quite believe it myself. Congrats on the boy Adgirl

Maybebaby how is the morning sickness? Has it eased somewhat? I’ve been getting sharp pains in one breast, I’m guessing my milk ducts are developing but I have no idea why it’s only one breast, maybe because it’s the smaller one it figured it would get a head start!

We also told our daughter by getting her the book “Hello in there- A Big Sisters Book of Waiting” and read it to her. At the end of explaining everything I said “Do you have any questions?” and she said “ yes, is Santa still going to come?”  So I’m not quite sure she has got the concept!

Hope everyone is trying to take the Xmas prep easy x
