Hey there, I'm getting an add that scrolls in as if it's part of the page, and blocks the text of the page being read.

It's for Ford, and for me happened in this thread but I presume that's random

But really annoying, because I can't actually read the posts at all, it covers them.

I cant read Catzilla's post because of a giant black screen!

Way to drive away users.

Cant actually see all of my own post either.

I agree! Those types of ads are a big turn off and very annoying but it's so much worse as these ones block parts of posts, whole posts, page features... IT need to sort it out or they'll be losing visitors :(

#21 71Cath

Posted 15 May 2018 - 09:04 AM

I'm getting the Ford ad and blocking of several posts too :(

ETA: appears to be 4 posts the ad is blocking

On what planet do advertisers think these sort of ads work?
Ooh there is a thread about our product! Let's convince them how good we are by being intrusive, annoying and unhelpful - that will convince them *evil cackling*

I am another sufferer of the super annoying Ford scrolling ad.

Not just annoying - is actually making the site UNUSABLE.

I was trying to post something, the stupid advert was over the top, I could scroll past it but it was still blocking the box where I wanted to type my post.

So I just gave up and didn't bother posting.

#24 Sentient Puddle

Funnily enough - I cant read half the replies in this thread because of an ad for Ford.  Don't companies realise that not all advertising is good advertising??

It is now starting to block posts for me as well.

Hope it is gone soon.
