Is Everest a cute and quirky name?

This is completely brought about by watching Paw Patrol. The more I hear it the more I think it’s cute. You could use Eve, Evie, Ever etc as a nickname. I’m not planning children anytime soon so this is purely for fluff.

What do you think? Cute name or lay off the Adventure Bay shenanigans for awhile?

I’m sure there is a celeb out there with a child called Ever, or maybe there are a few. Not sure it’s short for any other name though.
Not sure it’s great, but I’ve heard way worse!

I actually put Skye on the list of potentials and got a big fat no from Captain Husband.

I’d probably go Everly over Everest but that’s just personal preference.

If it was for a girl, she'd be getting 'jokes' about conquering her , her whole life. Calling her a mountain...

So please no.

ETA. Googled, saw she debuts in Season 2. I reckon I've just been watching season 1!

I llike it but if I “found” it by warching Paw Patrol,  I would have Paw Pattol in my mind everytime I used it, so i woukd have to rule it out.

One of my favourite names is Daenerys but its from Games of Thrones so not something I’d want in my head (although i may prefer to have GOT over Paw Patrol!)

Alanis Morissette's son is Ever, her daughter is Onyx.

Ditto, but wouldn't call a kid that.  DS1 is obsessed and mr14 months will actually sit still for paw patrol.  DS1 has a friend called Chase at playschool. I'm sure he's not named after the show, but makes it easy to remember his name when DS1 is so obsessed with it.  We've just got 6 DVDs, no idea what seasons they belong to, its not on our streaming service.

No.

Reminds me of the old bumper sticker "I'm a Mountain Man and I Love Mountin' Women"

Edited because the bottom row on my iPad keyboard is wearing out and it messes with words beginning with c v b n and m.

Everly ok

Problem with using Everly comes when you subsequently have a boy and he becomes Everly's Brother.

Just made a celebrity baby name quiz for my baby shower and discovered Everest is the name of George Lucas’ child and all I could think of was this thread!

I dont watch any Paw patrol - but No,  i dont think Everest works as a name - mainly because of the mountain connotations.

Several similar names which are quite nice - Everley, Everett

Someone mentioned Skye - I love the name Skye and would totally use that for a girl if I had the chance.
Is not a new or out-there name

I think they just needed another female pup. It's all a bit masculine otherwise.

More than one more needed, i say! There's no good reason that half of those pups couldn't have been written as female.

Absolutely! Originally Skye’s thing was flying then in one episode they all got hover crafts so essentially made the only female pup superfluous! Silly patriarchy..

Oh I think it’s cute!

But QI (I think) told me it’s Eve-e-rest not Eva-rest.

I don’t know if that’s better or worse.
