Another method and another company asking for your money and they’ll magically fix your babies sleep.

Its so horrible to prey on the desperation of sleep deprived families.

Yeah I’ve noticed a few advertising on Facebook. The idea that there is an easy fix for everyone would be hilarious if it wasn’t for the vulnerable sleep deprived parents being taken advantage of.

In my outrage I forgot the link -

I’d actually heard good things about possums! What was the thing that really struck your outrage on this one?

Nothing specific- just that there’s ANOTHER one - it could have been anything I hadn’t come across before really. I vividly remember the desperation I felt in our first year trying to find a solution which just doesn’t exist (aside from time, understanding and sourcing help where possible so I can nap). I couldn’t work out why all these families were finding magical solutions for their kids sleep issues and I couldn’t find one for ours. I tried everything and wasted so much money that we really didn’t have because another company had another method that “works amazingly if you just do it right”.

This stuff pulls at my heart now because I wish I could have done it differently and not tried everything under the sun, not wasted our money and not wasted hours of my existence stressing about why my baby didn’t sleep.

My deep seeded issues resulting from our first year of parenthood really.

You should actually have a look at possums, with the benefit of your experience. They actually publish in journals, and acknowledge that sleep, breastfeeding and the mother’s mental health are all interconnected. They also seem to indicate that babies need more stimulation, that reflux is over-diagnosed and some other interesting theories. I’m not quite sure what to make of it all - I’ll have to have more of a look when I get a chance (ha I’ve got a catnapping 3mo).
