I bought Ribena the other week, almost expecting it to be sickly sweet and disappointing...

But it was just as good as I remembered. It was always such a special occasion cordial or for some reason when we were sick we had it.
I've still got one poppa in the fridge, hidden from the kids so I can have it myself.

How about you?

TV Snack biscuits and Kool Mints, although the mints possibly tasted better when they came in a round cardboard container with a metal lid. We used to have them every time we went to the movies when I was a kid.

Kool mints! I didn't know they still made those. I'm sure I loved the chocolate ones.

Tropical flavoured fruit box.  Just as I remember.  Different packaging but same taste.

I need to have a Ribena now though.  Great idea hiding it from the kids.

I wish they would bring back those iceblocks with 2 sticks, so you can snap it in half and share it with your friend. cant remember what they were called, probably splits or something.

Cottees chocolate topping and aeroplane jelly.

These are the 2 things I would have to get sent to me in care packages if I lived overseas. The original and awesome.

Thick white toast with real butter and Vegemite . Never disappointing . People mentioning red skins I am really surprised they are still CALLED redskins . Another is Arnottes Royal biscuits . Still love to crack of the chocolate first , then eat the marshmallow and then the jam covered biscuit . Yum.

Kool chocs! They were so good. I don't think they've made them for years though.

Googling the first thing that comes up is a Facebook post lamenting the lack of them from 2013.

I'm a stay-at-home mum who's an awful housewife

"Hey, come here a second," my mum said as she replaced the book in my hands with a wooden spoon covered in what I prayed was red sauce.
