Hi everyone! First time posting. Not sure what is going on but if any one has been in my position and can shed some light that would be great!!

We have been TTC since January and have had no real luck. I had the rod removed in August last year and we started actively trying in Jan.
At the moment my period is about 31 days late (the latest it has ever been!) and my doctor has put it down to my body/hormones getting back to normal. But until now, my period has been somewhat normal, maybe a few days late, or a couple of days early but not this extreme!
I said to her that this is not normal and I really want to find out if there is anything else going on? So after some convincing I was able to get a blood test which was for "everything" she said and an ultrasound and the internal ultrasound!
With the ultrasound, the sonographer asked a couple of questions (well lots actually!) and her responses were odd.
The one question that stood out was "have you been pregnant before?" and I said "no" and this I think is a normal question to ask but her response was "oohhh, ok" (very surprised). So then, it got me thinking? What can she see?
On the 20th of July it will be two weeks since the ultrasound with no results from the doctor, so I will phone them tomorrow, but does it normally take this long for results from the ultrasounds to get to the doctor?

Did you make a follow up appointment with the doctor? If
Not make one! They will discuss it with you when they see you, and go through your blood test results.
If there  was anything urgent they would have called you the day you had the scan.
Good luck.

Follow up with your doctor straight away!
Whenever I've had blood tests or ultrasounds, my GP has the results within 24 hours.

Thanks for your replies! I will definitely call and make an appointment tomorrow! I guess I can take this as a sign that there isn't anything major going on or the dr would have called me already?
Thanks again!

Can't help with you with the ultrasound. But when I was TTC I went off the pill and had regular periods for almost a year. Then they randomly stopped for almost 4 months. I blame stress. I was busy at work and then we went on a busy holiday and it was just a very busy time for me. And I think once I missed one period my body couldn't reset and try again. Dr had to put me on medication to induce a period. Then I went on clomid.

The radiologist report should definitely get to your doctor within 24-48 hours.  Anything urgent the radiologist would contact the referring doctor immediately (as soon as they reviewed the US).

This happened to me - no period but negative HPT and BT over a week after AF due.  In my case it turned out I was pregnant - must have ovulated the day my period was due.

Good luck - hope next time you need an US is when there's a baby in there :)

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your replies!
I phoned the drs and the receptionist said that there is a note on my file saying that the dr wants to discuss the results with me. It is a little odd that the dr wants to talk about my results but did not contact me about it

So I have an appointment at 9 am tomorrow (Tuesday the 20th) so I hope it is good news!!

I will post back here tomorrow with whatever the result is.

Hi everyone!!!

So the update! It is a definite :BFN:

The Dr told me that I have been diagnosed with PCOS! :omg:  I haven't even heard of it really.
So she gave me a referral to see the fertility specialist on Tuesday the 27th and then we will go from there.

So, I guess I have an answer to what is going on, but it wasn't what I was hoping for!!

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement! I read them this morning before going in and I had all my fingers and toes crossed! but I don't think it makes it impossible, I hope!

Aw I'm sorry to hear that, Jane2721.

PCOS is usually very treatable, a good friend of mine recently got her BFP with it with a little help from her doctor.

Wishing you luck!

Hang in there OP. I have PCOS and wasable to have two children. First one was easy. Second one, I should have seen the FS asap, instead I waited 5 years. Got pregnant on first cycle with FS though!

There's hope! I hope the Fs is able to help you. x

The ultrasound must have showed lots of immature follicles on your ovaries.

Very treatable.  Read up on it before your appointment. This is one time when Dr Google could be useful.

I know a couple of girls with pcos who used acupuncture and Chinese medicine to help them conceive so maybe that's something worth considering. I wish you all the best in you Ttc journey.
