Goodluck FRWC.

I have only told DH. I will tell kids between 8-13 weeks, still unsure. Last time we told them when I poas that I might have a baby in my tummy & we lost the baby at 17 weeks. I'm glad we enjoyed the baby for the time we had it & figured they would have found out anyway when I went to hospital. But i don't want them to go through that again if it happens in the first trimester...i would prefer to tell them after the 12 week scan but unless we tell someone before the scan we have to take them! So unsure. Not telling family till after 13 weeks & close friends after 20. I think.

Scan was all good! measuring 7w4d :) (So only 2 days behind really, which is fine, they said within 5 days is fine :) Hopefully it might just be a small baby *crosses fingers for when I have to push it out*) Heart rate 160 :)

Such good news FRWC! Happy for you :) getting me excited for my first scan on Monday :D
We've told a few people now, I was only going to tell my boss beforehand so if I had to have a sick day or anything she understood why, my two best friends and my Aunty and grandma because they were the only two not attending a wedding after our first scan where we would tell everyone. Since then though I had to get moved out of my department at work so I had to tell a few people there and my mum came to visit my sick great grandma so she won't be at the wedding, which means we had to tell her and she told her boyfriend and my brother. I don't mind them knowing though because they live 10hrs away so won't see anyone to tell them :) I didn't want to tell everyone early after last time but at the same time I know I won't really be able to keep it a secret if our first scan goes well so everyone will probably know around 8 weeks :)

I have told my mum and dad and my 3 best friends because they were following my ttc journey. They are sahm's also and we often watch each other's bubs when we have appointments and things to do. Its great to have the support from them.

I have horrible indigestion today its really not pleasant but i welcome all the pregnancy symptoms as i had some slight spotting during the week but mostly old blood i think was stirred up by dtd. I cant wait for my scan mostly to ease my mind everything is going ok. Still have over a week to wait. Im also nervous about  the possibility of twins. Any twins in the group?

On Friday when I have my scan I am going to talk to the doc about my fatigue, I have been so bad I am having troubles staying awake at work and I think half the nauseous feeling I have been having is because I am so exhausted and forcing myself awake.  It has been so bad that I walk from one room to the other at home and I feel worn out. I have started taking iton suppliments but I don't think it's enough.

I feel your pain Jen, tiredness at work has been so hard to deal with. I don't go back to doc for a few weeks but i have a holiday coming up so hoping for some respite soon. I hope you get some help!

ThrilledWolf, my morning sickness has kicked in the his morning and I'm feeling the same way as you.
Hoping i only get it for a short period this time, unlike with my DS, I had it until week 14.
I feel sorry for those of you who get morning sickness from the start of pregnancy.

No morning sickness here as of yet however I've got a cold! Went to the dr who said its just a normal viral cold/flu however there's not much I can take to help relieve the symptoms.

He told me to drink plenty of water, take vitamin c tablets and a salt water gargle. I've taken today and tomorrow off work, I'm hoping it will be better by then.

smmaho hope you feel better soon. Having a cold or flu is one of my biggest worries, especially since we'll all be pg over winter. I can not sleep without nose spray if I have a blocked nose.

im in the same boat, currently battling a sinusitis/tonislitis like infection, worked night shift last night but as per the doctor I've had to chuck in the other three... fell dreadful. haven't vomited all pregnancy and tried to take panda this morning and vomited all the water and tablets back onto the bed/my lap....just devine....then came the tears from feeling miserable... i also asked the doc about my heartburn which stops me from sleeping sometimes and were going to try ranitidine.

feel awful for my team at work for not going but also need to do whats right for me and baby at the moment.

I am lucky bit to have had any issues with MS but I have gotten pretty nauseous lately and I think it's from absolute exhaustion.  We are renovating and when I come home from work I'm  building the kitchen.  I feel add if I haven't slept in days

Sorry to hear you lovelies aren't feeling too crash hot. Hoping you all feel better soon! :)

Just had our first scan and were super excited to say that a rainbow baby is on the way! I'm about 6w6d so they said my EDD is 18/10, but my ovulation and periods are usually pretty spot on so we'll see. We heard a little heartbeat too, 134bpm. I nearly cried with happiness! Best day ever! :)

Congrats Morton-89 that's wonderful news! I'm still feeling fine, just bloated & sore boobs, I know nausea won't be far away though!

Have my first appointment with my OB this afternoon.

Very exciting. Nausea is still here and feel like it's getting worse. Medication doesn't seem to be helping either.
Hoping it passes after this trimester!

I'm still feeling like rubbish with this head cold and no voice :( I need to go in to get my blood test results so think I will see my regular dr and ask about antibiotics if he thinks I need them. 4 days of this cold and it's not getting any better. I'm going to have to take tomorrow off work as well and I feel so guilty about it. But teaching prep kids and having no voice is an impossible task!

I just need to feel better.

What are others thoughts on taking antibiotics during pregnancy?

#47 MrsP2014

Posted 01 March 2016 - 01:16 PM

smahho my gp gave me a pack yesterday and said to take them if i got worse, apparently there not a problem but you would want to be sure its bacterial not viral as antibiotics don't work on viruses, and can have some not nice side effects like diahorrea, nausea, etc but i was told they are safe in pregnancy. im holding onto mine and waiting for this thing to declare itself!

Update to post above

Went to the dr and all my blood work came out great. At 5w4d my hcg levels were around 7400 which dr is happy th. I got my referral to an ob.

I asked my dr about my cold and said that he thinks it's just a normal cold and to hold out a bit longer. He said that being pregnant lowers your immune system and also takes longer to recover. So will just see it out.

Although you already have your answer just thought I'd let you know that I'm on antibiotics now for a uti. Haven't had any problems or anything and dr wasn't worried. I'm not sure if all antibiotics are safe in pregnancy or not though because I did notice I'm on some that I've never heard of before. In saying that though I've never had antibiotics for a uti so maybe they're to target uti's specifically, not sure though :)

Hi ladies

Just popping in here as my EDD is currently October 31... I may end up in the November group after my first scan next week.

This is my fifth pregnancy, praying that this one goes all the way. We have only told my parents so far (due to a family event we had to get out of) and will tell a couple more people after the scan next week. I haven't even written about it on my blog yet (this is huge for me!) as I have a few friends who follow.

First appointment today at 5w4d and hcg 927 and progesterone 55, highest numbers we have ever seen so everything crossed that it continues this way.

Looking forward to sharing the following months with you all :)
