I am starting a small business mainly on Ebay and Etsy to start and I also want to start a Facebook and Web site.
As the start up capital is very low I need to get a logo designed cheaply. I see there are many free online programs and I am at a loss as to which one to choose.
I just want something simple but no idea where to start. Can anyone suggest somewhere ? I want to use it on the internet, business cards and get stamps and letterhead made eventually.

I like LBM Designs on facebook. Her logos are very simplistic but gorgeous. I used one of her premade logos for my business.

I used Logo Design Guru. You can nominate how much you want to pay for your logo. I've also heard of 99 designs but not used them.

99designs.com is good. You set the budget, provide a brief, then a competition starts where multiple designers submit their designs. It works best if you monitor the comp and provide feedback each day (I've found you attract more designers & get a better outcome).
I think they also have a logo shop where you can choose a ready made logo for $99 (I think) and the designer will add you business name. Anyway worth a look.
Only thing is suggest is that you get any artwork in either .eps or .ai file format. Essentially this vector format enables you to scale up the logo without pixelation.
