Would love to hear stories from those that have big gaps between kids......

My first 2 are 3 years apart but this time (I am only 5 weeks preg) I will have 6.5 years between my dauter and this bub.My son will be 9.5 years...

I am excited to soon be sharing this pregnancy with them and them and I know they will be great big brother and sister. It was nice to have 3 years with my son before DD was born and its been nice to have the time with DD while DS was at school....this time round ill be able to have loads of one on one time.
did your older kids get jealous about bub? Any tips or suggestions?

TIA

Congrats. I think your gaps will be perfect. Kids will understand and be helpful

We just had number 3. Older kids are 5 and 3. 5 yr old is great. 3 yr old has been acting out and hard work.

DS was 9 when DD was born and 12.5 when DS was born so bigger age gap, but Both times we announced the pregnancies he was angry and very upset right up until the births. From the minute he saw both of his siblings he has been nothing but a loving, involved, incredible older brother. He can actually settle DD better than DH and has even been known to change pooey nappies! He adores his younger siblings and they adore him!

There is 8 years between mine two and I loved the gap! Ds was able to help out and involved the whole way. Both DS and DD have a wonderful bond and I wouldn't Change a thing!

Congrats and best wishes for a great pregnancy! I have a 3 year gap and then 4 year gap so DS1 was 7 when DS3 was born.

Both have been fine with the adjustment. They did become tighter and closer to each other as I was busy with the baby a lot in the early days. They get on very well so that was ok. They both adore their baby brother. They delight in every new thing he does. If anything I sometimes get frustrated that I can't get anything done as they are always touching him and cooing over him LOL.

DS2 is at preschool 3 days a week this year and I am loving having the time with DS3. original.gif

I have found the 4 year gap much easier than the 3 year gap, partly because DS2 was occupied with his big brother and partly because that extra year meant DS2 was TTed, could get a drink or a snack etc and was past the tantrum stage. original.gif
