I heard this on the news and thought there may be a few people interested in this.

There is also a facebook group that may have some more information.  Even if we do need to take it with a grain of salt.  wink.gif  It's called Join if you want ALDI in PERTH!!!

If it's near Ikea I'll be mighty peeved.

Nope they didn't mention where on the radio, just that they may open 60 in WA. I would assume they will be placed near current Coles/Woolies stores in high traffic areas, to provide the best value opposition. If they are as good as everyone says, then I'm stoked! Bring it on biggrin.gif

But does that marketing guy seem completely off the mark? I would of thought more the burbs and more big shops not inner city call ins.

He's right about the typical shopper though. In the UK, I'd never go for a full shop, but just bits and bobs that I knew were good value there. Then supplement with familiar brands from Sainsburys. And I think it'll be a bit of a shock for customers who don't know the layout of a store - it's not pretty.
