Best way to cook salmon?

Hi there

As the title says what is the best way to cook
Salmon? I have been given 2 fillets and
I'm not sure if I should cook them in a
pan or oven bake them.

We're really minimalist.

Put it on a piece of foil, pour over lime juice and add cracked pepper. Fold foil into a loose parcel, seal it at the top by folding the foil together and cook at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes.

I usually put them of a piece of foil, squeeze lemon juice over, fold the foil to make a parcel and bake in the over at 180 for 10-15 minute.

I prefer to oven bake.
My husband prefers them grilled.
I think it all comes down to personal preference.

When I oven bake I usually either use a lemon juice based recipe or a brown sugar - soy recipe.
When grilling I quite often used a curry paste.

My preference is seared on a BBQ or hot plate. But as long as you don't over cook it, salmon can be very nicely cooked in the oven, on the BBQ, in a pan or steamed.

I pan fry them with the lid on so they end up like baked fish with a crispy skin. Gotta be very careful not to overdo them this way though, they go from perfect to dry in a matter of a minute or so!

I pan fry them for a couple of minutes on each side - so the inside is still quite underdone.  Tonight I pressed sesame seeds into them first, then served them with soba noodles, snow peas and wasabi mayo.

This. Sometimes we mix honey, soy and ginger together and pour that into the parcel. Or another one is dill and lemon and a splash of olive oil. Both are delicious but even better if you marinate them for an hour or two first. Otherwise we just grill them.

I find the parcel in the oven method better as otherwise the kitchen smells of salmon for a few days aftewards!

I sprinkle moroccan seasoning on top, stick it in the oven (roughly 180) for about 20 minutes or until it's cooked.  Delicious.  Even better with apricot and almond couscous and a spoonful of greek yoghurt.

That's how I cook it as well.

Marinate them in Oyster Sauce and put on a sheet of foil on a BBQ plate for circa 7 mins.
They also taste great if you add sesame seeds as a crust to one side...
