I will start off by introducing myself. My name's Charlene and I am 35 years old and a mum to five children. Four were birthed at Logan Hospital and one was a spontaneous home birth. I am now studying hard at Griffith University to become a midwife to realise a lifelong calling. As a student I'm after some opportunities to learn from ladies who are less than 35 weeks pregnant, by joining with you in sharing your birthing journey as part of the continuity of care teaching through uni.
If you're less than 35 weeks pregnant and plan to birth at Logan Hospital or home, I would appreciate you contacting me if you might be interested in helping a student midwife.
I'm happy just to listen and learn, hold your hand, provide company, moral support and learn from your journey. It is required that I attend some ante-natal and post-natal check ups with you, and being with you while you give birth would be an absolute honour, privilege and valued learning time, but not an expectation as it is all about you and your comfort.
I live close to Logan in Browns Plains so I'm happy to travel to you. Please contact me and I can give you more information about how the program works, I look forward to meeting you and learning with and about you through this wonderful journey into parenthood.
