Ok I have no idea about these things. I have done opt a few times in the past 6 months. I never seem to get any darker or as dark as the control line but it seems to be on day 10 I get an obvious line then day 11 it's faint. I have noticed I have egg white cm today on cd 12. My question is do you O when tests are showing pos and when you get a neg it means its all over? So sometime on cd 10 and 11 I O?

Ovulation tests are at their darkest when the lutenising hormone peeks.  This hormone peeks just PRIOR to ovulation, So you should get a positive test, and then ovulate soon after.

When do you start using them? How often do you test? I start testing twice a day from day 8 and keep testing twice a day until i get a true positive which is the line is as dark as  the control line. I usually have my first positive day 13 and the next day test line is darker than control in the same 24hr period. I test at around 10am and 7pm each day. You may not ovulate as early as you think too

I had trouble with them as well so ended up charting my temp each morning.  I think I fell pregnant the first or second month from memory.

Also during the days I am testing my line gets darker the goes faint and darkens again right through to my true positive.  Your lh goes up and down during your cycle and it will until you get your surge then it will go lighter again.  Hope this helps
