Hi everyone,

I emailed my sister this question today but she didn't really have any guesses as to what it could be so I thought I would put it out to you...

I'm about 6 days past O of what I *think* is a 37 day cycle (the last cycle was 37 days but I've come off the pill in August of 2012 and they haven't regulated themselves yet)

Here is the strange happening....

Ok so I have kind of a strange thing going on that I want to ask you about. Last night before I went to bed I went pee and ‘wiped’ and thought hmm, that had a tiny little pink-ish tinged, I wonder if my period is coming. So I go to bed, wake up in the morning, go pee….nothing there. Go to work, go pee, nothing there, and then 5 minutes ago I went in to pee and really ‘pushed’ out the pee and felt myself pass a ‘clot’ (you know that feeling?). I thought ok good, period has arrived, clearly my cycle is figuring its sh*t out so I must have missed the O window when I was sick. BUT….when I got up to wipe, I saw a clot/tissue looking thing that was pink. Like strawberry milkshake pink. And I have NO idea what it could be?? Have you ever had this happen before? Its definitely not red or brown or in any way resembling blood. But maybe its just coming still? LOL I know this way waaaay too much info but I figured I would try asking you before I get too carried away with google.

Any thoughts or similar experiences???

Hi Aunty Kristy

First of all, dont worry about TMI - its what we are all here for.

I dont have any answers except to join you in saying I have had a similar experience myself so, if you dont mind, I will stalk your topic to read what replies are posted....  So, for what its worth, you're not alone in the "what the...?!?" stakes...  Thanks for posting your question.

Thanks for your reply Alli&Dean

Our body can really freak us out sometimes can't it? I haven't had any other 'incidents' since the one time so maybe it was just my body prepping for AF (which isn't due for another week). I hate how confused I feel having just started the TTC journey with no real idea what is happening with my body/cycles.

Feel free to stalk away; hopefully someone else might have an idea of what could be happening. Will keep you posted if I get any answers....good luck on your TTC journey!

Could it have just been a pink-tinged blob of cervical mucus? My CM is usually thick and creamy after ovulation, and sometimes I get some stretchy fertile looking CM when my period is about to arrive (this can come out in blobs like you are describing).

You can also have a bit of spotting around this time which can be called "implantation bleeding" as it's quite common if you are pregnant. But realistically, it can also happen when you are not pregnant, and is due to an estrogen surge you get around this time in your cycle. It often manifests as pink-tinged CM.

Hope that helps.
