So, couple of rec days and I'm in cooking heaven.  My little boy has gone back to school and I have baked and cooked like a mad woman today biggrin.gif

Tonight we're having rib eye steaks (bone in) baked in the oven with whole garlic cloves, roast potatoes and steamed beans and cabbage.  I'm surfing the 'net for homemade Diane sauce to appease the husband.

What are you having?

Corn chowder. I wanted a nice bread roll to go with it but it started pouring and I couldn't be bothered walking to the shops, so it'll be a piece of toast instead.

Hope you're okay (well, as okay as one can be under the circumstances) purpleblackqueen.

Nachos with homemade salsa and guacamole.

It is our fav meal (DH & I) and we plan to have it once the kids are in bed so we can enjoy it in peace!! biggrin.gif

Pizza night at Casa del Countrymel!

I just had to do a mad dash to the bakery to get a french stick....
In about an hour and a half DP will swing up the driveway and we will sing the special pizza night song, he'll then do a "Way of the exploding fist" punch to deflate the dough and it is all on!  (roasted eggplant, fetta, spanish onion, swiss brown mushrooms, porvolone, and whatever cured small goods he has picked up from the German butcher)

We love pizza night!

Everyone's meals sound so delicious! I'm feeling so unmotivated, I've not really got morning sickness as such but the thought of cooking just leaves me feeling blergh

But DH has just texted to say his can't/won't-manage-time boss has stuffed up so badly on a deadline that DH may not be able to get home until late. Really late...

Here's hoping it's one of those nights when the 4 month old goes down really easily!  biggrin.gif

DS had a not so good dental appointment today…so it looks like it will be scrambled eggs. If I can be bothered I might make mine a little bit fancy.

Counrtymel, your pizza sounds pretty darn good.

Can I come too?   ph34r.gif

Thursday night is our weekly classy shopping centre dinner night.  So probably sushi or chinese....but I'm thinking pizza might be a goer.

Spicy tempeh balls with homemade satay sauce and a green salad. Then the cherry pie that I made yesterday drizzled with cream for dessert. Yummo!

ETA: well, it is yummo but I won't be having any because I'm doing a juice fast right now. I'll just watch DP as every forkful is savoured and marvelled over  wink.gif

Did I mention I used oregano in the dough? And there is homemade passata with garlic and basil for the base?

There is a reason we have a special pizza night song!

So do you all share a meal together? If so, does that mean you rotate between people's houses?

We are having chicken curry and rice.

We're having some kind of baked risotto.  I'm getting inventive and adding stuff I want to use up (sweet potato, tinned salmon, coriander?)  Could be interesting...

Low carb shepherds pie.

Last night was carb free slow cooker chicken tacos.

I'm slowly embracing this clean/low carb cooking.
