Although I am like a woman posessed with the whole ttc thing, I am also very good at second guessing myself so recently got mixed up with when AF was due. (Was more absorbed with the 2ww and how many days past O I was). So I thought AF was due last week and was high fiving DH.... Only to find that it was THIS week that AF was due.
I had resigned myself to not being pregnant as I had also had 'those feelings' which I get before AF. Yesterday morning there was a bit of blood (apoloies if TMI) so thought that this month is out and when at the shops bought some beer.
Hd one beer over lunch and as the kids were having their nap and there happened to be a helium balloon in the room from one of DD's parties myself and DH did the whole helium high pitched voice thing (because we have the humour of a 10 year old).
Since then AF hasn't actually come yet - just a bit of brown spotting and then nothing.....
Now I am not paranoid about the beer but could I have harmed the baby (if there is one) with the helium? I have been looking online and opinions vary from 'very' dangerous to 'just don't' however it all seems to be in relation to a pregnancy much, much farther along.
I may very well get AF sometime today or tomorrow however if I don't and I am actually lucky enough to be pregnant have I just harmed the baby? Has anyone else had any experience of this?
Thanks in advance.
spoke with Nurse on Call, who then put me through to the Poison line, who then put me through to a hospital department which advises on such things in pregnancy and all is good. Both beer and helium wouldn't have affected the baby as you have 17 days past fertilisation before anything can harm the development of the baby (though obviously there could be substances which could terminate it). Even past that date he said that I haven't harmed it. Won't be doing it again though AND by the time I got off the phone I think AF has arrived but at least we know!
