I'm wanting to give the first recipe in Jamie's 15 Minute Meals a go, it involves using bamboo steamers.
Can these be substituted for an electric steamer? We already have one of these.

Should be fine But if you want one/two/five bamboo steamers are usually very cheap in Chinatown shops.
The only real worry with electric steamers is that many have plastic parts that are not BPA-free.

A metal steamer basket you use in your saucepan is quick and easy too. Probabl less faffing around than with an electric steamer (though to be fair, I've not really used one before).

I ended up finding a cheap bamboo basket and using that anyway. It was two-tiered, but slightly narrower in diameter (20cm rather than 25cm). I might find another single 20cm one for a third basket.
