Happy new year!
I was just wondering has anyone conceived by doing the BD five days prior to ovulation.
I'm just curious?

I cant help with your question, but just wanted to say good luck...
in saying that, some do believe that in optimal 'environment', sperm can live for up to 5 days... so you never know.
It aint over until the fat lady sings... or in this case, the witch arrives :/

Yes. Charting, temping, OPK, cycle like clockwork. BD 5 days pre O, came down with nasty flu, then DH got same flu. No more BD that cycle due to illness. Shocked when that HPT was +ive! He's 4 now

Yes, as you can see from my sig I was trying to avoid a pregnancy both times LOL. Maybe this is gender swaying I don't know but the results are the two loves of my life

DS1 we BDd then two days later started LH surge ( I have long lead in). We didn't want o fall PG that cycle so abstained... DS2 was the result.
FFS autocorrect. Gender swaying did not work or DD either... She was O day Bd. only DS1 worked like he should have.

Well I wasn't charting so I can't say exactly when I ovulated but I conceived my first from having sex on day 7 of my 28 day cycle and then my second on day 5. Maybe I'm an early ovulator, maybe my husband has durable sperm or maybe it's a little of both.

Thanks heaps ladies.
Wow I cant believe that sperm can live that long.
I am hoping but not overly optimistic.
I guess only time will tell :-)

Yes, one act 5 days before O.... but then I started spotting and it ended with a chem PG at 5wks. The closer you can time BD to O, the better your chances of not having an aging sperm meet the egg. But as the previous posts show, if you're young or pretty healthy, it can happen. FX for the result you want!!
