False positive with Clear Blue?

This is a bit of a complicated story, so bear with me.

I got what I thought was my AF 4 days early last month. A week later (last week) I started getting odd cramps for two days which were too much like period cramps and not like ovulation cramps. I had similar cramping with my previous pregnancy (MC at 5 weeks 3 days), so I tested with a Clear Blue digital HPT and got a BFP, which led me to believe that my AF was actually a long implantation bleed. I've had no symptoms other than occasional cramping and daily EWCM.

My doctors were closed over New Years and could only get an appointment today. I decided to take another test yesterday (clear blue again) and got a BFN. Tried again later in the day and got the same result.

I'm waiting on blood test results from the GP, but could the original BFP have been false? I seem to have no signs of AF coming along, so I'm not so sure it's a chemical pregnancy. Right now I'm just confused as to what's going on with my body. Today is the same 5 week 3 day point as when I lost my first pregnancy, so I'm not feeling terribly confident that I'm going to get a positive blood test result.

Get a first reponse.  Those ClearBlue pg tests often give false positives.  Any blue dye tests tend to be quite unreliable.  Good luck.

Thanks, I was looking through EB for evidence of that and I couldn't find anyone talking about it anywhere here.
I actually stopped using First Response because I was getting false negatives with my first pregnancy. I guess we'll just see what the blood test results say tomorrow.

Good luck, I hope the BT results give you a definite answer.
FWIW, I've had a false positive on a clear blue test before too, I don't trust them much. Hope you'll know for sure what's going on tomorrow.

Got test results back today and it was a false positive. Sad, but at least I know what's going on.
