We have been on the hunt for a new sofa for a while now and fínally bit the bullet and purchased a gorgeous italian sofa by Erba for 7k including scotchguarding down from 11k (display model). We thought this was a great price and allowed us to look past the fact that it was fabric and White! The alternative was b&b italia charles in dark grey, which was a good 5k more and for the record uncomfortable. Our Erba is amazingly comfortable and looks beautiful too. This is the pic below
Now, we have got it scotchguarded but with a toddler and baby this may not be enough. Would a slip cover look awful? What idea do people have or was this a total mistake buying this with young kids?!

Personally, with that sort of outlay, I'd be investing in some custom made washable slip covers. If it's made to fit it will look fine.
