Hi bec_1108, fellow first-timer! I also have an auto-immune disease (MS). They say that pregnancy will be a little holiday from it original.gif I hope it's the same for you.

Hi novakf! I noticed from your sig that you have MS and I was thinking it's kind of nice to find someone else with an autoimmune disease who is due around the same time. I've heard pregnancy can bring some people into remission, and make others worse! Hopefully we will both feel great!

Hey Bec, I have Crohns Disease also. Does your Dr have you on any meds? original.gif

Autumnmumma and Bec, I also have Crohn's Disease. I'm on Imuran which my gastro says is fine to take while pregnant - he says that if you start a pregnancy well (as in, not in a flare up) then odds are the pregnancy will continue well. But there was no talk of me going off Imuran, it's much safer for the mum to be well and healthy during pregnancy than any risk to the baby being on medication.

t baby, I am on Imuran also! I was on Imuran with Ds also and everything was fine. :)My gastro preferred me to stay on it too.

Wow it's amazing how common CD is these days! I'm not on any medication right now. I've been in remisson for the last few years since my sub-total colectomy 5 years ago. I wouldn't be worried if I needed meds though - I've known ladies taking humira who have had successful pregnancies.

I'm not coeliac but I've been following a mainly gluten free diet for about 15 years. It tends to help my Crohn's symptoms. I can be a bit "naughty" with it though without too many problems. How are you finding eating gluten free in pregnancy? I'm worried it might be quite limiting.

I find it very easy because I have been on it for years. All I pretty much eat is fresh veges, meat and fruit. I find it hard to get enough fiber though.

Hi everyone,
I'm due 25th September with baby #1.  I'm excited but for some reason abit wary at the same time, don't want to get my hopes up too much incase something goes wrong.i'm surprised I feel like this since no history of miscarriage, it more that we were so lucky to fall pregnant 1st month we tried that I feel our luck may run out at some point.
Anyway, I'm 4 weeks today so so far so good! ddance.gif ddance.gif
