Hi everyone,
Excellent news with so many successful scans and Muggins, twins again wow!

I have been stalking every now and again, trying to lay low until I have had my first scan (tomorrow) and then I think I will relax a little and start to enjoy what the next 30 or so weeks has instore, once the ms buggers off!

DH keeps calling me an 'excitement squasher' I just can't get too attached to this one until I know all is okay.

I hope it has been smooth sailing for most of you other ladies!

I had my first scan today and just the one baby in there, took my three boys in with me and they were so excited, the youngest was disappointed it wasn't twins (my eldest two are twins so I do have a higher chance of twins again).
I've not got morning sickness or anything but when I haven't eaten in a while I get really queasy and only eating has stopped it so far, I never had anything like this with my last two pregnancies so it's really surprised me.
Had my due date confirmed as 9th August which is good.

I hope everyone is doing well and now I've had the scan it all feels a bit more real so I will probably be more active here  happy.gif wink.gif

I am so confused last night I was added to the fb group - I made a post- it came up in my news feed and on my profile. How do I know other friends of mine can't see it? Deleted my post as got all worried! Is it really hidden? Thanks original.gif

Hi Mim12, I'm glad I'm not the only one being a bit hesitant to get too excited in the first trimester.  This is my first pregnancy (>2.5y TTC) and I can't wait until the 12w mark!  Wishing you and everyone all the best for a smooth first trimester (go away nasty MS for those of you with it!! - I've been lucky not to get too bad so far).

Hi ladies I'm not very active on this but I'm due on aug 13 with first baby. Exciting but not getting hopes up until jan 11 when I have a dating scan. I had a repeat blood test and showed hcg levels are about 50000 yesterday which I think is a good sign? (I had a m/c in June so not getting ahead of myself) I find this site really useful so thanks and i ill try and be more active in posting. It's a bit odd as I don't feel pregnant at all and no m/s... Which seems very different to others experience (but suppose I should count myself lucky? Though would be reassuring to feel pregnant...hope you are all well x

Newtothis81 - Your post connected with me as I am due on August 14th with #1 and also feeling very nervous about getting too excited and don't want to tell anyone apart from my partner and sister until after 12 weeks! Here's hoping all goes well... I also have no morning sickness or cravings as yet, however my clothes are getting tighter and going to have to upgrade my bra size soon! My ultrasound and blood tests have been positive and 12 week scan booked for 31st January. Fingers crossed!
Congrats to everyone else and I hope you are all feeling much better soon!!

Continuing on from Chat Thread #3....
~*bumblebee*~ I'm not on FB, worried I'll accidentally do something silly and post to my general page before I'm ready to announce at 12w (Feb 8th for me, counting down already!!).  I'll join then.  Am I missing much?

HeartMyBoys sending you lots of positive vibes, waiting isn't much fun sad.gif  Hope you get a scan soon.

jopha I'm spotting too, with the occasional light bleed - I've had this twice: once after carrying something heavy and once after swimming.  Could have been worse, could have been whilst halfway down a lap in the public pool!  I actually got motion sick from people swimming past in the lane next to me - that was a new experience.  Won't go back to swimming until >12w methinks, just to be on the safe side.  I miss exercising but too worried to do this due to spotting sad.gif  I hope yours stops soon.

AFM, I'm lucky I had a 6w5d scan on Wed (flickering heartbeat!!) and my FS wants to see me again in a fortnight so I'll get another scan at 8w5d, then all going well, another one at my first appointment with my OB at 10w.  Assuming I also get a 12w scan (I think this is the NT one?) then it's looking like I'm getting heaps of scans!  Hoping this will stop me from worrying too much.  Not looking forward to going back to work next week.  I'm finding I get very achy around the uterus when standing up too long, and not sure how I'll survive without an afternoon nap!  Hope to get access to the sick room to keep this going for another couple of weeks, not sure if work will like that but I'm hopeful.
Wishing you all the best for a lovely weekend original.gif

Hi all, new to here and first ever post! Pretty exciting! Ha. Due in August 2013, had scan this morning and got to see little heart beat and excited...first baby so full of nerves and questions and just want these 12 weeks over!!! Hi Ladies, had first scan today. So exciting, was great to see baby. Ob was really happy and said baby had strong HB. Did change my due to 6 August but I am OK with that just happy to see bub and now have a little picture....

Can anyone tell me if there is a "usual" time to start telling family and friends?

We are 9 weeks and I would like to tell our parents next week after our 10 week OB appointment.  Hubby thinks that 12 weeks is the "normal time" but we don't really know!!

#21 Beckie81

ellejays there is no "normal" time to tell anyone. A lot of people wait until they get past the 12 weeks, with our DS my DH was on the phone as soon as we left the doctors when we found out at we were only 4 weeks this time we waited until 6 weeks. It is so exciting for us we can't keep it in. Plus I have had the worst MS there is no way I could have hidden it. However I have only told family and friends haven't told work yet. You can tell people whenever you feel you want to there are no rules as to when you have to do it. Hope that helps.

Just wondering if I can join the group. I am 6 weeks 3 days ( had a scan yesterday) making the baby due the day after my birthday! Not much ms, more like a little queasiness and gagging when thinking about certain things. This is my first is don't know what to expect. Paranoid I might lose it but will just have to wait and see what happens I guess.

We're due 4th Aug, but our early scan showed the bub was a bit bitter and possibly could date 29th July. The fantastic news is - we olnly have 11 days to the 12 week scan!!!!!! Cannot wait to see our little baby again, this time with a little face and arms & legs. Bring on the 16th!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, welcome to the ladeis and congrats....

ellejays, in regards to telling people it is totally up to what you feel comfortable with. A lot of people wait till 12 weeks  but I did read someone recently that is quite new. It came about when they started doing the 12 week scan, before people use to tell a lot earlier. I am waiting till 12 weeks scan as I just feel better with that. We have told family of course and a few close friends but other people and work will be after scan.

Mummie2bagain, ms is the worst, I have it all day as well except lately the mornings seem OK and it after lunch when it gets worst. I have found smaller meals and just eating all day seems to help. My ob said yesterday it peaks at 9 weeks, so for me want get any worst and will end between 10 and 15 weeks.

Ritaroo, what your feeling is natural. I don't think it goes away but after each scan and appointment I know I always feel a lot more relaxed.

im-am, the 16 is so soon. that is great, mine is on the 21. Good luck, so exciting. I was also due on the 4th but my scan on Friday has now moved me to the 6th.
