The biggest thing I have ever herd from others before me about babies was don't leave them on the bed,so they don't roll off.... oh yeah DD was put on the bed so I could dress myself, dress over head, *thud* DD Kamikaze-d off the bed, cue tears, mostly from Mummy ahh! Will be changing the morning routine Me thinks!

I got out of bed once carrying my baby and managed to drop her on the floor. cue hysterics from me and not much from her lol.

Oh and I used to sit her on this old vinyl arm chair we have out the back when I hung out washing and one day I looked over to see her head a HALF INCH off the ground, head first. She'd slipped right down and over. So then I had to cart the bouncy chair out  with  the washing so she could sit in that.

A few months ago I'd pulled DS into bed with me for his morning feed, and dozed while he fed. Suddenly I shot up wide awake realising he wasn't in my arms - he'd finished his feed and rolled off me over towards the edge of the bed, head hanging off the edge, rest of him still on the bed.

Scared the bejesus out of me, but he thought it was hilarious

Ds1 had learnt to swing himself around and get of the bed feet first.

Or so I thought until thud! Head first into his cot requiring a stitch in his lip and massive mummy guilts. I still feel bad to this day when I notice his scar.

Bouncy chairs do not always equal contained baby sad.gif

Setting the table with DS2 safely contained in bouncy chair, go into kitchen and get distracted. Cue MIL walking in and saying "Have you seen your son?"
I walk out of the kitchen to see DS2 giggling his head off, flat on his back on the floor with the bouncer on top of him. Put him back in the bouncer thinking one of his older siblings had flipped it only to watch him dig his feet in and bounce it until it flipped again!

Needless to say, that bouncer has since moved onto a household with a less exuberant baby and DS2 is restricted to the playmat.

Both twins managed face plants off our sofa before they reached the rolling stage! It's horrifying when it happens, I don't think either of them cried... but I was a complete, total mess!

Oh another one..
Last Christmas my then 17 month old was sitting in one of those booster chairs you stick on a dining chair. We'd eaten dinner, on to dessert( I made chocolate mousse and trifle) I'd eaten my share, hubby had ONE mouthful and BAM!
She'd pushed her feet against the table (the support bit under the flat part) and pushed the whole dining chair and booster (strapped in 'safely' of course)backwards, hitting her head on the track of the sliding door behind her.
Everyone's crowding around us while she screams and I try to assess damage. Off to the hospital we go(she dressed in her Santa Baby outfit lol) where she gets the gash glued up, a free toy and a terrible virus which ends in double ear infections and a nasty cough.

And she refuses to sit in a booster chair again, with good reason!

I was on one side of her chair, hubby on other and nothing we could do to stop it. It was over in a blink!
