Spin off to another post on EB
I love the school holidays. I love spending time with my children. We don't have enough time to relax and just be with each other. School holidays are our time to wind down and spend quality time together.
I actually hate the end of school holidays when the children have to go back to school. It takes me weeks to adjust each time. Thankfully I know I am not the only person in real life like this but was wondering if there is anyone else on EB that loves school holidays.

I'm with you - LOVE holidays and spending so much quality, relaxing time together.
Loathe when the holidays are over and the horrid morning routine is reinstated.

I like the not having to rush in the mornings and it is lovely when I am on annual leave but I find it hard when I am at work.

Absolutely! Who wouldn't love the slower pace of school holidays? It's wonderful. No rushing around in the mornings, making lunches, doing homework, basing your whole day around the drop off and pick up.
And then there is actually spending time with the kids and doing fun stuff with them.
Yep, I love school holidays.

These are the first holidays that I don't also have summer break.
So now that I'm working FT, I actually see the kids less over the holidays than during term (as they're spending time with their dad, my dad, my mum etc)

SJ: working ft with the new qualifications? Awesome.
I must admit I love school holidays, I have taken the first 4 weeks off, and then go back for the next 3+ weeks, but only 2 days/week.
We are all having a brilliant time

I can't exactly comment in the way that I have kiddos AT school (DS is only 3.5mo) but my DH is a teacher and I have to tell you I am loving the holidays too. It's so nice to have him here with our little boy for the summer. Plus I get a sleep in every second day. Bliss!

I enjoy them when the kids aren't fighting, LOL.
Mostly it's great, even though I'm a SAHM I do feel rushed on school days, especially with after school activities as well. So it's nice to have a break from that!

Love it! We get to do lots of fun things and there's time for craft and home projects. Yesterday the kids played in a tent I made in the garden, had home made ice lollies and DH and I managed to start clearing the shed and I made a skirt for DD. Plus DS can stay up late, so we are star gazing, watching the big bash and torturing him with old comedy from our childhoods!
And it's all done at a leisurely pace instead of having to be rushed as it is in term time.

Love holidays! Mind you I am a teacher and am enjoying lazing about. The girls are doing thier own thing. I hate the morning rush and even more I hate that half of Sunday is preparing for the following week at work.

My husband is a teacher and I love school holidays
We actually planned to have our DD when we did as the end of the year is less stressful and then it would be summer holidays (luckily our plan worked!)

No alarms, timelines, deadlines and very little demands.
We love the school holidays here!

I love 'em. Absolutely!
It might sound like I don't and I do get over them due to lack of routine and resulting feral children, but I do like the slower pace and hanging out and going to the beach and stuff.
At the moment I am trying to recover post Christmas so it's a little trying!!!

I LOVE the school holidays!!!! We're all chilled out & enjoying our time together & planning the odd picnic at the beach. I hate the lead up to going back to school

I am loving the summer holidays but find mid-winter holidays pretty gruesome!
Posted 29 December 2012 - 01:45 PM
Yep, i am really enjoying them

Despite working for most of them and the kids being far more social than I am, I do get to sleep in a lot more during school holidays. I like sleep a lot, so I think they're great.
No scrambling for fruit for lunches when we were supposed to have left for school 10 minutes ago - yay!

I am loving them so far
I am thoroughly enjoying it, no morning chaos, no lunches to make, no hectic drop offs and pick ups. In saying that, DH has been home from work and goes back next week. It's much more enjoyable when he is around, I'm more relaxed and in return, so are the kids.

The school holidays are the only time I wish I was a SAHM. I am thinking of buying a couple more weeks leave from work if the Board will agree to it. I do love holidays off with my daughter.

I love school holidays when I'm not working, when I'm working I'm feeling guilty that the kids are spending their holiday in vacation care but there is no possible way I could take the 6 weeks off at christmas plus the addition 6 weeks in the year!
