in the mood for a little kitchenware shopping, and fancy a tagine. There are so many, but there's little info as to which one is the best etc, and the quantity of food you can yield with the different sizes.
If you have a Scanpan or an Emile Henry or anything else, can you tell me how good it is etc? And what size you have, and how many adult serves you could get out of it?

I have the Scanpan Impact 32cm http://www.kitchenwaredirect.com.au/Brands...act-Tagine-32cm
It is wonderful cooks beautifully, cleans great, we have cooked for 6 adults a meat dish with a vegetable and cous cous sides and had a small amount left over.
I really like it and went on to get the scanpan impact set.

I have the Emile Henry one. I'm happy with it. It seems to work pretty well no matter what I cook in it. I have not had any issues with things sticking or burning etc.
Easily washed up and pretty low maintenance.

I recently purchased two as gifts from a catering supply company. They stocked Emile Henry and a no name, but still hand made earthenware one (cheaper). Their Emile's were much cheaper than RRP. But I noticed yesterday that they're 30% off at DJs too.
I bought the no name one. $80 for 25cm. Imperfections cos handmade
(I definitely didn't want the M&W tagine. Love the brand, but wanted traditional, not with a special non stick coating or whatever it is. Noticed these are now 60% off in various places tho...)

We have a 32cm Emile Henry. I love that it goes from stovetop to oven! It cooks really evenly and is super easy to clean. Portion-wise I find it hard to say - if you were only cooking one main dish I'd think you'd get four or five good-sized adult servings out of it. I often use it to make biriyani, it does a great job! We have quite a bit of Scanpan cookware as well and, frankly, I don't think the quality lives up to the reputation.
