I loved the actress when she voiced Chohiro in A Sprited Away. Such a brilliant movie.

I don't mind the name but it's nms.

Eta I pronounce it Da-vay but maybe I'm wrong?

You will have a girl with the nickname of 'Dave'.

My guess would be Dah-vay. The eigh being like sleigh or eight, not like Leigh.

I don't like it. It looks like a mashed up named that's pretty masculine.

Awful however you pronounce it.

Pronounced Davie?  I don't like the spelling but I've always been partial to the name Stevie for a girl so its similar.

I do like tomboy names though.

I don't hate Davida/Davita (duh-VEE-da or duh-VEE-ta, not DAVE-ih-da) though they're very old-fashioned. Throw it on the pile of names like Thomasin/Tamsin, Simone, and Petra, all of which I prefer to David, Thomas, Simon, and Peter.

-eigh and -leigh names get on my nerves nigh-universally though. So I can't love Daveigh, and also wonder if its Davy, duh-VEE, or something -VAY but I really hope not VAY.

The name daveigh doesn't appeal to me but the nn Dave would happen with other established names like Davina, and really seems no different to other girls names having male nuns Samantha nn Sam, Alexandra nn Alex, Christine nn Chris etcetera shrug.gif
