Hi

Could I have some book recommendations on preschooler emotions...learning to deal with anger, frustration etc.

URGENT!!

On a related note, and because my antenna is always up, I know that you've mentioned concerns in the past about your son's behavior. One thing you might consider, if you haven't done this already, is getting a developmental assessment done. You can either go through a developmental paed or through your local area health service (you will need to get referred by your GP & one other child professional). My understanding is that the local health service assessments are comprehensive & can also help link to other services, if needed.

Of course, preschoolers can be naturally challenging creatures even without underlying "issues" -- but in case there are issues contributing to your son's behavior, it is much better to get a good grip on them before the child starts school.

I was also going to suggest a series of books sold at the post office for your 4 yr old. There's one book for each emotion and it is great. I noticed DDs preschool has them. After each book they all draw the face to show the emotion.

How about the book 'the red beast'
I think it's written with ads in mind but there's no reason it can't be used for nt kids also.

In my opinion, you need to meet real kids at the age in the real life in intense contact. I mean try to play with your nephews or neighbour kids a couple of hours three times a week like 2 hours or so.

Try to understand them by feeling not by logic. Be them, I mean have a feeling as if you were kids too. You ever was, right? And you can be accepted by them easily then. It works.
