I would appreciate some advice - this is my first pg and I don't really know anything!

I had a first scan at 5 weeks 5 days (it was a dating scan) and found a sac and yolk but no hb yet.  The radiologist seemed very unconcerned.

We now have our first OB appt on 8th January where I will have a second scan and will be 9 weeks 6 days.

I'm having a hard time not knowing if this is a viable pg or not. I don't really have any symptoms except for a bit of mucus and occassional nausea (no vm) when I'm hungry.

Should I go back for another scan next week (8 weeks) or is that not really necessary?  Do I just need to tough it out??

Hi Ladies, how is everyone going? Sorry I haven't been in for awhile. I have been terribly sick and just getting through what had to be done. The MS hit me about Thursday last week and it has been just awful. I have had a lot on with work and Christmas so had been a struggle just to get through it all. I am struggling also with terrible sinus which I had with my DS. Have a dr appointment Wednesday as it is just getting too much. The MS doens't seem to be as bad today, which I don't know. Makes me a little bit nervous to why it has lessen but I am going to enjoy it while it lasts.

ellejays, do you have any reason to think this pg would not be OK. I am not getting a scan till 4 Jan, my Ob said that is when he will see me. For my DS I got one early but that was becasue I had spotting. If you have had no spotting and no past history of anything I would not worry.

HeartMyBoys, good luck for your scan. FX for you, I am sure you will hear good news....

Congratulations to the all new ladies....

Sorry for not doing any more personnals, but I wanted to come in and atleast say hi and hope your all doing well.

I had a dating scan with my youngest son and was told i was in very early stage and we could only see the sac. A few weeks later i went back and all was fine. I went for a scan with my current pregnancy last week and they suggested not doing it and waiting another 2 weeks, as i might not see anything. I took their advice and have a scan on the 24th. If you want to put your mind at ease, and are happy to pay for a scan, then you should do it. Then you can spend xmas stress free

Hi - I don't have any symptoms that suggest the pg is not ok.  It's mainly because of the following that I'm a bit edgy:

- Unexpectedly quick first pregnancy after always expecting it to take a long time!   I have never had a regular cycle and had a diagnosis of PCOS.  So it's taken us a bit by (happy) surprise.
- Family history - my brother & SIL have TTC for 2 years and have had at least one mc. My parents had a lot of trouble TTC and also had a mc.

I think it's mostly just first pg jitters and feeling like it's too good to be true!  I guess I don't want to want it too much only to find that it's not happening - but I guess you can't really live life like that can you? (now that I've said it aloud)

Thank you original.gif

We had our scan earlier than expected because I didn't know when I ovulated.  We thought we were at least 6 weeks and possibly 8, but it turns out the HPT showed up positive very very early!  So we were less than 6 weeks for the first scan. I would have waited longer if I'd known I was that early along.

Hi everyone!

Heartmyboys-  I understand how that could be unnerving. If you are feeling really concerned about it, could you move your scan forward?  Maybe to Friday so you can relax on the weekend?  But I'm sure you will get good news on xmas eve anyway.  And I'll be thinking of you.

Ellejays-  If it will put your mind at ease, and you can afford another scan, I would just go and get another scan hon.  Just so you don't have to worry about it.  You would be VERY lucky to see a heartbeat before 6 weeks, so your scan is completely normal, but I would just go again for peace of mind.  I don't have my scans until 7 weeks just to make sure I should see a heartbeat by then.  Believe me, it doesn't matter if it's your first our your fiftieth pregnancy, most ladies are very jittery in the first 8 weeks particularly and even the first 12 weeks.  I'd love to say it gets easier with each pregnancy but it doesn't LOL!

LO123 and starposs  waves.gif   I'm sorry that you are feeling under the weather and I hope you get some relief soon.

AFM-  Well the hormones are in full swing.  I have nausea and exhaustion and can't decide what I am going to eat.   Just a total lack of motivation really. LOL.  Wish I could just sit on the couch a snooze but I'm to busy!  So close to xmas our business is crazy and DD is teething poor thing.  I had an appointment with my TCM practitioner this morning and she said everything is going beautifully!  She is placing bets on a boy according to my pulse, which I would agree with at this stage.  She doesn't want to see me now until the 3rd Trimester unless I have spotting or something like that.  I have my scan on Friday and I am so excited about seeing the little guy in there.  FX it goes smoothly!

Hi,
I have done two HPT's and both were positive. I can't see the Dr till this Thursday, but we're sooo excited!!  I went off BC, it took just over four weeks to get my period, then before the second period was due I started to have period symptoms.  So the day they were due, I bought a couple of tests and you know the rest biggrin.gif
So I went from the first day of my last period and I'd be just over four weeks pregnant?

Hi!

Am i in the right place to join?

Due date: 4th Aug

first baby (if we are lucky this time!)

Had 3 miscarriages previously so very nervous in these early days...

Had early scan 6w 3 d and all was well though heart beat on the low normal side at 110.

Second scan booked for 8th Jan to double check.

At moment we are 7 w and 2 days.

Have been reading all your messages about symptoms etc and it has made me feel so much better that what i am feeling is very normal! Thank you!

Look forward to sharing my journey with you all.

Had my appt at the cancer clinic this morning and it went so much better than expected. I do have high grade abnormal changes but they were able to determine that its not cancer yet so i am able to continue with the pregnancy and they just want to see me again in 18wks to see if treatment needs to be done sooner rather than later but at this stage they think it'll be safe to leave it till i deliver. Woo Hoo!!! Now i know i can start telling people at xmas and dont have to be worried about having to abort for treatment original.gif

On a side note, i started vomiting today. Not liking this at all but atleast its no where near as bad as when i was pregnant with DD. I had MS day in day out from 4wks through till 42wks with her, was even hospitalized due to severe dehydration and malnutrition. Kinda glad i hav MS tho. Didnt with my last pregnancy and it all ended at 8 weeks so its a relief to know my levels are high enough for it to be affecting me. And im past the point that i started bleeding and lost the first bub last time and haven't seen any blood so far so fx for a long healthy pregnancy this time. I wasn't in a very good place in life last time so it may have been my bodies way of telling me that its not a good idea to be having a baby at that point but life is so much better now and this pregnancy was planned so im really hoping all goes well this time.

Hope i haven't missed anything in the past few days, been pretty busy getting my work done so i could take afew days off this week and haven't had much of a chance to get on here... Any new announcements?

Thanks littlepip, it was such a relief to be told good news today.

Another thing i figured out today is my due date is 8/8... I already knew it was the 8th of august but hadnt seen it written in number format till today and then it hit me that my lil buba's due date is the same as my due date. I was born nearly a month early so it didnt turn out to be my birthday but its still a funny coincidence lol

Chloesmum2008-great news!
Ellajays- I understand ur nervousness, I'd be going for a second ultrasound. I'm current very nervous and I'm debating getting a scan done before January.
I'm very anxious as I have NO symptoms whereas last time I did. Dr was also concerned about my low HCG level. I did a second blood test today (a week after the first set) so ill find out later this week if they've gone up. I've read that it's not the number that's important is the fact they're increasing ok which is important. Still, some reassurance would be good.
The reason I'm so nervous is that DP had 2 SA done, the first was really low (we would never fall pregnant with the results) and the second was fine, but the lower end of fine. Also, he takes pretty hefty medication of which there are mixed reports of whether it affects sperm quality.
Anyway, not much I can do but wait. And not stress.

Chloesmum that is just such wonderful news, you must be sooooo relieved and happy!  That is a really cool coincidence that bub is due the same day as you.  You and I have the same due date as well.  biggrin.gif

Thanks LO123, emelsy and Living_Bravely. Now all i need is an early scan and i can pretty much put all my worries aside. Besides having to be up early on a day DD isn't here its been a really good day. Cannot wait to start telling people. My doc rekons I'll be safe doing so as she thinks my M/C was related to everything that was going on in my life at the time and some uterine calcifications found just before i fell pregnant last time but they seem to have clear up now and all my blood test results came back normal which wasnt the case either last time so im pretty hopeful this time. Its still in the back of my mind as my family history seems to be that the females dont have any trouble falling pregnant but each person that has kids has had more miscarriages that live births. I think my best bet is to try and stay positive and hope for the best instead of dwelling on the worst.
