Are absenses still counted?

I hope not, considering how little my stepdaughter is going at the moment!

They aren't counted as such in that they will ever appear on a report card, but they are kept in the school's records and you still (technically) need to provide an explanation for the absence, but I doubt many schools would bother with trying to get an explanation for students absent in the last day of school.

Our absences were also recorded on the report cards (and late attendances)
