Can anyone tell me anything about this??
I cant afford the real stone and really don't want plain Laminate or Formica..
I am wanting something that is stain and heatproof which the others aren't, but according to the brochure (which I now cant find) the reconstituted stone is.

I have essa stone in my current kitchen, and CaesarStone in my new kitchen. Love them both. No staining. No scratching. I love that I can put hot things directly onto it. Looks really nice, easy to clean.

I have caesarstone too but was told to never put anything hotter than what you can hold in your hand on it as there is a risk of it cracking.. not sure how true that is but I'm not willing to risk it and find out!!
Also they said that they don't recommend leaving stuff on the bench that could potentially stain it for very long (e.g. beetroot, red wine)..guess this may depend on the colour you choose though (mine is white)
My bench is 4 years old and still looks brand new, very happy with it.
Bunnings sell a spray and wipe type product specifically for stone benches (that is not expensive) and that's what I use to clean it.

What vanillaicecream said - except mine is 3 years old.
I have had minor stains come our with a bit of bicarb soda made into a paste. Nothing I couldn't remove yet.
I don't put hot directly on... but I reckon you could.

We looked at doing this a few years ago when we were planning our kitchen. It was about the same price as a full stone bench top. Needless to say we scrapped that idea and now have caesarstone instead.
