Have had a look in Spotlight, Target and Kmart, but no joy.

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to buy a cheap Christmassy pillow case to use as a toy stocking?

Thanks original.gif

I bought 2 at Target last week (they were folded in a packet) and I saw some at Best and Less today (they were on hangers out the front).

Hey, your baby was born the day after mine.

I got some from Kmart the other day, they were in the aisle that had all the xmas cards and tags. They had 2 different styles too.

Just buy a normal pillow case then go to Spotlight or similar and get an iron on Christmas themed applique. You can get iron on letters too and put your child's name on there.

Buy Christmas fabric and just sew one?

Yep I've seen them in Kmart too with all the decorations etc. Not in the linen section.

That's cool Dylan's Mummy. We went for a picture with Father Christmas yesterday and I'm pretty sure I heard my son saying he'd like a cord and a power point for Christmas. He already has ALL of his front teeth!

I think I'll go back to Kmart and check out near the gift tags. I looked in the sheets section  ddoh.gif

I have exhausted my extremely limited capacity for craft by having an absurd idea to hand embroider stuffed christmas tree ornaments for all the babies at Mothers Group, and I don't actually have a sewing machine, so the thought of sewing a pillowcase doesn't really appeal.

Thanks all original.gif

I think Dylan would like that too as well as a pair of adults shoes or slippers. I found something at a baby shop that goes around a power board to stop bub from playing with the plugs and cords. Dylan just has 1 tooth.

Went and had a REALLY good look round Kmart today and no joy. The shop assistant in the christmas paper/ label / decoration section said there hadn't been any in this year at all :/

I've seen a Target one on eBay but nothing in the shop either.

Can anyone tell me a place in Melbourne's northern suburbs where I might have some luck?

Thanks Cadie original.gif I'm stuck in my 70s childhood and was hoping to get the same kind of thing I had as a kid! He won't notice anything for this year but it would still be nice ... I might try another shopping centre on Sunday morning!

Xmas pillowcases are def in Kmart, I bought two myself.
I did see some largish fabric decorated Santa sacks in our local Woolworths Supermarket today - bit bigger than a normal pillowcase. About 7 dollars.
Cheers,
Julia.

Kmart Plenty Valley had them with the Christmas things in the aisle before the books.

That's where I was today  cry1.gif we even spent some time tidying the display and checking behind things as it was all a bit feral.

I suck at shopping!

Yep bought mine from Kmart last year and pretty sure I saw them again this year because I nearly grabbed another one but then remembered I already bought one last year.

Saw them in my Woolies yesterday too, but not where you'd expect. They were in the meat section perched on a display behind the ham freezer.  unsure.gif

Just an idea, but have you checked the regular bedding places at all?
I wonder if they might have some seasonal stock of things like pillow cases...?

Thanks, Lizzzard, I did try the manchester places at the local Westfield but they were no good either...

However, since there were so many reports of them in Kmart I went back at the opening time this morning, earlier than usual so nobody else was there, and victory! There they were, on the lowest shelf, stacked like books so I couldn't see the labels.

Thank you everybody, you are all much better shoppers than I!

To cap things off, my lovely boy wasn't terribly keen on being out and about this morning so I bought him a toy with sounds and lights to play with in his pram. Pretty sure thats a violation of the first rule of shopping as a mum - buying the kid a toy to shut em up lol.
