My GPS has been stolen so I am in the market for a new one.

There seem to a be a lot more features available.    And to be completely honest I need all the help I can get!

So which ones are good and which ones should I avoid.  What do you love or hate about your GPS.

What do you use it for? I have one for sport, one for in the car and one for when I'm bushwalking. All different and I love them all!

Look for one with Lifetime Map updates, our Garmin has them it has saved us heaps in map updates.
With our old Navman the map updates cost us more than the actual device did, and the new maps didn't have correct details for long established Gold Coast suburbs.

I used it for the car only (use my iphone when on foot)

Thanks for tip about the cost of updates.  I never knew that.

We only use our mobile phones. We sold our GPS because we didn't use it.

I use a Tom Tom with live services, so it tells me faster routes and alerts to traffic jams/road works etc. However, I drive long distances and to new locations, so for me it's worth it. Also, my eyes aren't good enough to see the maps clearly on my phone and I'd need to be pulling over to check the route all the time.
I'm going to buy the latest one soon as it comes with free lifetime maps and it will be more cost effective than updating my current one a few times a year.

I got stuck in a new estate in Mona Vale last week. Went to upgrade my tomtom maps when I returned home and they wanted $99! Um, no way! ohmy.gif

I do love my tomtom, but I might save my $99 and put it towards a new one.
