DD1 is Abigail Jean.

DD2 is due in a few months and our top three names are:

Alice Catherine (not sure about usint two 'A' names but I love this! Though am slightly turned off by the fact that it is a Twilight character...)

Eva Catherine (too popular? I don't mind top 50 popular but don't want top 10 popular, if that makes sense?)

Emmeline Cate (not sure I am brave enough to use this. Love Emma but have a close friend is Emma and it would feel weird using it.)

So, which would you pick from our list and do you have any other suggestions?

I love the name Alice and will be using it for this baby if it's a girl.

The other names are also beautiful but Alice would be my pick.

I love Emmeline Cate. I agree that Eva is too common, and two A names would bother me...also, the nickname Emma is lovely by itself.

They are all beautiful and I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices. I love the name Emme which would make a gorgeous nickname for Emmeline.

I think Eva or Emmeline go better with your DD1's name. Good luck choosing!

With Abigail I'd go Emmeline.

Emmeline Cate is my pick.

Emmeline Cate for sure!

All good names, but if popularity is worrying you then Eva/Evie/Eve added together from NSW 2011 figures totals around the same as Charlotte, ie top 10. All the Eve versions and Alice are among the names gaining popularity at the moment.

Separate from popularity though, I would still choose Emmeline Cate!

Do you plan to abbreviate their names? Because Abby and Emme sounds a little funny. If you were Id go for Alice  original.gif

my vote goes for Emmeline Cate

Original, sounds great.
Only problem is she will have to spell it to everyone, she will get used to it.

Can you go Catherine Alice?

Alice and Emmeline are pretty, I love Cate as well.

I love all three names, but with Abigail I think Emmeline is great.

I love love love Alice, but definitely wouldn't use another A name.

Eva is pretty.

Emmeline is okay, but I do love Emily.

And Kate is gorgeous, spelt with a K, definitely.

I don't really like Cate standalone, but I like Catherine a lot. Alice is probably my favourite but I'd mind a MN initial match less than FN iykwim.

Love Eva and I think it's goes really well with Abigail too.

Emmeline Cate with Emma for short

I also like Catherine Alice but Catherine is going to become really popular cos of Catherine (Kate) Middleton

How about Madeline Cate? but then you could end up with maddy and abby..

Wow that's a choice challenge!   All great.   How to pick?

I actually think Abigail and Alice is a lovely sibset and the same initial thing is kinda nice here, definitely not a negative for me.  And Alice Catherine is without a doubt a swoon combo.

Eva goes less well for me.

Emmeline is a gorgeous name and is perfect with Abigail.   I'm not sold on the Cate bit however which leaves Alice Catherine in front.

Emmeline Clare?
Emmeline Eve?

I'm thinking Alice Catherine is just too good to pass up original.gif   Yep, that one!

Thanks everyone for your input.

Not sure it has helped much though lol!

My husband's favourite is Emmeline and I have a different favourite on a weekly basis. Guess we might have to wait and she what she looks like.

I do love Madeline too but it has been vetoed (as has Zoe). mad.gif

Alice Catherine (because Alice is such a classic name it doesn't make me think of Twilight at all, and it sounds so completely different to Abigail that having the two A names wouldn't bother me either)

Catherine is less popular than Madeline, so I'm confused.

I like Emmeline. I also love Emily as another suggestion.

What about Emilia?

Alice i like and the double A wouldnt worry me although DH wont let me do a double L with our kids.
