My name idea Acie received a pretty bad reception and I'm not sure how much better this going to be, by what do you think of the name Arlie for a boy?

i'd think of all the gorgeous girls i know named Arlie (and if i didn't see your child with you i'd assume it was a girl)

Acie- I'm sorry OP, I just am not a fan at all and actively dislike that name.
Arlie- a better name IMO, NMS but better than Acie.
What about Aries? Or Arlo?

What about Harley?

Or if you REALLY like Arlie, you could call him Arlo, with Arlie as a NN?

I know it's popular now, but Archie?

Arthur/Art? Arnold/Arnie?

I wouldn't use it as the full name.  I would go Arlo or Arlen.

Some full name options with that ending sound:

Tully
Scobie
Rennie
Kirby
Brady
Grady
Quincy
Perry
Ari
Yuri/Uri
Colby
Dally

Nope, I think of it along the same lines as Acie.

NMS - but maybe you could have a first & 2nd names with A.C. as initials? Then use Acie as a nickname.

I like Arlie, but probably because it's my sisters beautiful (female) boxers name.

I like Arlie but would probably spell it Arlee or Ali (like the boxer) for a boy.

I like Ali.

I don't like Arlie or Arlee.

Being from Pennsylvania by upbringing, I am used to Arlen, but I'm not sure I actually like it. And I like Alan quite a lot but it's maybe too retro for most people?

I love Ari and Avi but I'm like that.

I immediately thought of girl's name Airlie, which I like - for a girl. Agree with other's comments about preferable boy's names.

i recently met a girl with a little boy called Arlie and in one class i heard her say over three times, its like "Charlie without the CH".   That would drive me nuts having to explain it all the time.

If you love it, go for it.

Oooh, Libertine was mine!  cool.gif

I would probably misread Arlie as Airlie and look for a girl.

Arlo is cool.
