Awesome news! Please let this be the first of a long line of BFPs for this BG!

AFM - day 4... will have 3rd puregon shot of 450u tonight. Start Cetrotide on Fri. DH has being doing my injections but he's going on to night shift so I'm going to have to toughen up & do it myself. Im a bit scared about the Cetrotide... I hope its better than the Orangulatan (sp.) I had last time! I hate this bit!

Hi ladies,
Starting ivf January. Can anyone tell me what if anything they took prior to starting ivf. Acupuncture dr gave me Chinese natural herbs to take and I've read that I should also take a multi vitamin.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

P.s. congrats to all with positive news. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi Kylie,
I have only taken folic acid (Blackmores) before an IVF cycle. You'll need to let your clinic know about anything else you take as there may be contraindications.

For DD we were in the middle of QLD and had to travel to the clinic. There was no chance of me being able to use complementary medicines - we were lucky to have access to a GP and very small hospital.

This time we are in Central NSW and still have to travel but can stay with family. I'm currently injecting and will have EPU late next week. If this cycle isn't successful I may look into acupuncture next cycle.

Cheers

Hi KylieLouise,

I was recommended and have always taken Elevit with Iodine.  My FS advised me to avoid Blackmores Conceive Well Gold because it has fish oil in it.  Apparently fish oil increases bleeding during IVF egg pickup etc.

I didn't use any alternative therapies or herbs or anything but was also advised to let them know if I did as it can affect the IVF medication.

Good Luck!

Thanks ladies for the advice!
Magenta I can highly recommend acupuncture. I've never been into anything other than conventional medicine etc but wanted something to relax. I hate massage and was petrified of needles but a friend put me onto it 3 months ago and I love it. Not only is it meant to assist blood flow but it also is deeply relaxing....and this from a stress head!

Hi Kylie Louise

I've always taken Co-enzyme Q10 and Royal Jelly, along with Elevit with Iodine.  Acupuncture I found really relaxing too, but just found it was getting too expensive.

Good luck with your cycle.

Hi to everyone else!

Day 9 today. Had my first scan today. Follicles were too small to count. Argh! I have been having cetrotide for 4 days & have been told to stop. Having another scan on wed so fingers crossed we can count them on day 11! Feeling a bit depleted. I was looking forward to knowing how many follicles we had & what my E2 levels were. Pick up wont be until at least next monday now. DH starts back to work on Monday so will have to freeze sperm or maybe he'll take a sick day? He's on night shift at the moment so he's sleeping so I can't speak to him for another 3 hours or so. Fingers crossed wednesday brings positive news!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Hi causeway, day 9 is still pretty early so I wouldn't stress. Hope Wednesday brings you some good news. My husband was away for work on a few of my cycles so we had frozen sperm and it was never an issue. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi Causeway - I agree, Day 9 might be too early ... hang in there, and grow little eggies, grow!!!

Thanks Ladies - that's just what I needed to hear! Thanks for stalking! Will check back in on Wed. Hopefully better news by Day 11!

Hi ladies,

Causeway, I hope your scan goes well today and your little follies have grown nicely!

Kylielouise, welcome and I hope your stay is short and sweet.

AFM, I have been testing the past few days and.....BFP! My blood test is tomorrow so I'll know more then. Still very cautious due to our history so won't relax or get excited until I know more.

Milano - awesome news! Here's hoping for a high HCG result tomorrow!

AFM - day 11. Had a scan and follies haven't grown at the rate we would have liked. I do have quite a few but small. Back for a scan on friday & hoping they double in size! If not, we'll cancel the cycle & do a back to back with Elonva or Menopour. Stay tuned

#23 Gordo's Girl

Posted 05 December 2012 - 12:05 PM

Causeway - I guess the fact that they are all still the same size (and you don't have 1 or 2 much larger) is a good thing ... would be nice if they all have a growth spurt in the next day or so!!!   Grow little eggies, grow!!!

#24 causeway

Posted 05 December 2012 - 05:11 PM

Thanks GG. I do think this round is a bust! We will freeze sperm on Friday so we will be ready to go! Im not sure when pick ups will start again in the new year so fingers crossed if this cycle is cancelled I can get started again ASAP! BB on fri! Happy Birthday to GG's DD on fri!

Posted 06 December 2012 - 05:29 PM

Well I had the official call today, I'm pregnant. Still very early days so not allowing ourselves to get to excited but it's a great step forward.

Causeway, good luck with tomorrows scan. If you do cancel this cycle I can highly recommend the Elonva protocol, it was the one that worked for me and also Magenta who was in this buddy group.
