We have been invited to a carnivale fancy dress party and I have no idea what to go as - guessing every second person would go as a clown. It's for hubby, 7 and 9 year old and me.

Is it carnevale or carnival? If it's carnevale it's likely to mean masks and glamorous fancy dress like they do in Venice, or general colourful party stuff like Rio. It's quite different to clowns and sideshow alley like you'd get at a carnival.
