Another Bendigo girl here, and only just joining the due-in-group - I've been given tentative 'first couple of weeks in April' as a due date, thanks to the fact that Ace and I weren't actively trying and I never keep track of anything!

I don't actually have an ultrasound of any kind scheduled until November - is that normal or does everyone get a scan done around now?

Melbourne, Western Suburbs - Werribee.  Originally from Sunny Brisbane.

My partner and I moved here almost 2 years ago to look after my partners grandfather, it was either he had someone with him or he had to go into a nursing home.  My partner is originally from Melb, but fell in love with Brisbane - We will get back there.... one day!

I went to the doctors today -  At this stage my due date is 20th of April.  My Dr gave me the ultrasound form today, however he told me to wait a few weeks before getting it done.  He said getting it done now would leave me disappointed, if i wait 2 - 3 weeks at least i will be able to see the lil jelly bean and hear the heart beat.

I'm not an expert - This is my second pregnancy, my last i miscarried in my 13th week.  I was sent for an ultra sound at 9 weeks with that one, because we were unable to pin-point how far along i was. However waiting til November seems a little strange because then you'd be well and truely in your second trimester.  Usually having one done sooner will help them pinpoint the exact due date, which helps you with booking in to the hospital etc.  That's what I was told when I was pregnant last time.

Again, i'm not an expert and I am sure there will be others to reply with their experiences. happy.gif

im having mine today in 2 hours original.gif
i went to see my doctor last week and gave me 21 April as my due date but because i missed my period in june and then got pregnant in July so we just want to make sure what week really i am now original.gif
i dont know how other states work but in Perth, i know as soon as you see your GP they give you all the forms and request for ultrasound and bloodtest after they confirm you're pregnant.
maybe talk to your doctor again?

I don't see the birthing centre till November where I will about 17-18weeks but I went to my GP for early testing, so dating scan as was unsure on my dates, 10weeks blood and 12weeks nuchal scan. Are you not seeing anyone till November because you got this appt through the hospital?
Go see your GP for any early testing, just tell them you are unsure of dates and you will get a dating scan, you would be between 7-9weeks which is far along enough to see a little heartbeat original.gif

We live between South West Sydney (for the working week) and Illawarra (weekends) and will hopefully settle full time in our home in the Illawarra around Christmas time.
