Luv U Zoo™ Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym

Posted by EB Product Panel , 22 September 2011 · 3666 views

Adorable animal friends make baby feel right at home on the big,  round, cozy mat! There’s lots to see and do overhead and all around.  Baby will love to watch the spinning mobile with dancing lights and  lively music. The soft elephant gives baby a boost for easier tummy-time  play. You can reposition toys on the arches or mat, and even take them  along wherever baby goes! Requires 4 AA batteries.

More info on the Fisher Price website

Some of our lucky members were given a Fisher Price Luv U Zoo™ Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym to review - thanks to Mattel, and here is what they thought about it:

My bub is at the age now where she is interested in everything so she loves having lots of options. The Luv U Zoo is great fun for her. She plays with everything and loves all the different colours and noises. I feel comfortable leaving her on the mat to play as there is nothing in it that is dangerous or small enough that she might swallow. My daughter has just started to roll over and plays on her belly as well now so it would be nice if the Luv U Zoo mat had different textures and dimensions on it as well.

It was easy to put together but I don't find it all that convenient to pack away in the closet. I have seen play mats that just collapse down flat with no extra parts to detach which make them easier to transport as well.

I think all babies should have an activity mat and this is as good if not better than any other I have seen. If I could change anything it would be that there was just a little less plastic and maybe more material toys. It is a great product for an inquisitive child biggrin.gif

Wow I am really impressed, easy to put together and many toys included to add to the play arches. I was extremely happy this morning when it appeared on my door step as it was unexpected. As the previous poster said it isnt as compact as it could be which is a downer.

Apart from that, love the lights and music, much more glam than what we were using.

All in all a great product! biggrin.gif

A great musical gym for babies up to 18 months.  Easy to assemble, the gym comes with many attachments, including the mobile that lights up and plays music for 20 minutes - mesmerizing for baby!

The mat was really soft and comfortable, and the attachments for the overhead gym had 8 different toys in total that were in easy reach.  When baby gets old enough to roll over, there's a soft elephant toy that doubles as a support rest for the upper body - a really great feature.

The toys are also portable and can be attached to a pram.  I also think a couple of soft toys would be a good addition though.

Overall, a great product

As a first time mum, working out which toys are suitable for my little one has been a challenge.

I was given a basic activity mat/gym as a baby shower gift, so even though i had been eyeing off the luvuzoo one in shops, i just couldn't justify buying another one. So, it was a fantastic surprise to get the luvuzoo one to review.

Firstly, the positives. The gym is very easy to assemble, and comes with quite a few toys for baby to play with. The mat itself is comfy and soft for baby to play on. Visually, it's great to look at, with lots of pretty colours and patterns to catch baby's eye. The elephant support pillow is not only cute, but very practical and can be used in a few different ways. The musical mobile is fantastic, plays a wide variety of tunes, and plays for 20 minutes. Although, i do wish that the lights and mobile could be on at the same time.

There only a few minor negative points about the mobile gym - as pp's have alluded to, it's not very easy to pack away without dismantling the whole gym. The only other problem i have found is that most of the toys are made of hard plastic - not a wide variety of textures for baby to play with.

Overall, i'm thrilled with the luvuzoo deluxe musical mobile gym - it is a great way for baby to play independently, it looks fantastic, and will easily grow with baby as he develops.

My first impressions of the Luv U Zoo mobile gym was of the lovely colours, which are bright but not too garish or offensive to the eyes. I love the elephant support pillow (so cute!) which adds an extra element of functionality to the gym. I think the variety of toys that clip on to the gym are also well thought out. There is a mirror, harder toys for teething, toys that make sound and soft toys for baby to grab on to. The music that the mat plays is also nice and soft.

The gym was easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. The mat was not that easy to pack up and it was hard for me to find a place to store it away considering I do not have a large closet in the nursery. Regardless of this factor, I would personally recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a functional and stylish play mat for their baby.

Absolutely love the Luv U Zoo deluxe musical gym! So bright and capturing to the eye.

So easy to set up, and not too bad to pack up, although it would be great if it had a little carry bag to make it a little more portable.

The elephant pillow toy is great, as it really helps with tummy time, and my little girl loves the teething toys too. The mat and toys are so colourful and engaging, it is great that you can hang the toys from different heights and move them around so that it can grow with your baby. I also love how it lights up and plays music.

Would definitely recommend! biggrin.gif

WOW - That was my first impression.
Wonderful Bright Eye Catching Colours - lots of different textures and patterns to capture the attention of a bubba.
I love that the product is suitable for a boy or girl without being plain and boring.
It has many inclusions and can be used is a few different applications Ie: Playmat, pram toy etc.
My little man especially loves the Mirror original.gif
I think the 20 min music option is a great one as it is very annoying to have to go back to a toy constantly to turn the music back on.
The lights are a great eye catcher and really help with keeping bubba entertained while on the mat.
The elephant support pillow is very cute and a great addition to the playmat.
It was easy to set up but I wish it had some type of cover on the top of the mobile where the batteries go. Even a bright rainbow fabric cover would make it more appealing.
It doesnt collapse down like my other playmat but I think the quality and other inclusions make it more applealing.
I would HIGHLY recommend this to any of my family and friends whom are pregnant or have a bubba.
And Lastly I love that it is suitable up to 18 months original.gif
Great Product, Thanks Fisher Price and Essentital Baby.

When the Luv U Zoo mobile gym arrived on our front door we were very excited. The play gym is a nice colour theme suited to both boys and girls. It was easy to set up, but is a little bulky to pack away. doesn't both us though, we leave it out on the floor in our lounge area.
I would certainly reccomend to others as this is one of the nicest play gyms I have seen around. also a bonus that it is suitable up to 18 months.

What a surprise! I didn't expect (and had forgotten...) the musical baby gym biggrin.gif

The colours and characters are great, lots of different stuff and very varied. I love the monkeys because my son can use them for teething. It's also great how the toys can easily be attached on other baby things like prams, above cots, in rockers and bouncers etc.

Set up was no fuss at all, the same goes for packing it away. The bars snap together very easily.

My son was totally overwhelmed at first because there were so many different things around, but it definitely keeps him busy and distracted!

I'd definitely recommend it for others, especially if you've got an active and restless baby! original.gif

The colours are great.  I like that you can move the animals to other things.

The music is a good distraction for unsettled babies.

Set up and pack up is easy

When I saw the big box, I was apprehensive on setting it up, it could not have been more easy — even with a 2 year old "helper" and not finding the instructions until after ( not actually needed to set up so simple) .

Love the fact the toys are removable to be added to other items ( pram etc and for ease of cleaning) and all of them have passed the 2 year old test as well as he seems just as fascinated.

Only slight downfalls and really they are very slight

Wish the head had a handle or something so I could double use the musical/light up bit as a cot mobile as well.

I thought the mat could be slightly more padded. And it when folded it was more compact.

The only real trouble I had with set up was getting the battery back off ( shaped like a crocodile on top — very cute) but as I dont want the kids to get it off it's not really an issue.

Would I recommend it to other mums, yes, Its bright without being overbearing in any room and unisex, entertaining for bubs, and is easy to clean. Its size is perfect in our lounge room even with three older sons running around.

This is a fantastic toy, my child loves to watch herself in the mirror and could play for hours on her own.

I found it very easy to ensemble and my other two children lov to play with it too.

I think the material of the matt is great because it easily wipes up any little spills or chucks. Better then the other play matte which soak right in.

Only downside is my older children try to rest onto of the mobile causing it to fall over, luckily it's when my baby isn't playing under it.

Thanks

What an amazing play gym. I'm so impressed with everything about it. The bright colours and variety of toys keep my little man amused and entertained when he's on it.

Even my 2 year old finds it great fun, she loves to lay on there with her little brother and swing the toys for him. It's really great for tummy time play as well.

I found it really easy to set up and it remains up in the corner of our lounge room. A big thumbs up from me. original.gif

The new Fisher Price Luv U Zoo  Deluxe Musical Mobile baby gym is an attractive, well designed toy for the new baby.  The baby gym is sturdy, colourful and interesting to look at. I particularly liked the inclusion of a koala. The pieces are all baby and toddler friendly and can be easily held. They attach and detach quickly and easily from the structure and can be placed at different levels, according to the needs of the baby. The mat is colourful and appealing with its animal images and combined with the mobile pieces would be great for tummy time. There’s even a cushion to prop up the baby to help with this activity.
It is easy to take out of the box as there are no plastic ties that hold the pieces in place. Fisher Price has used cardboard instead, which eliminates a good deal of frustration for the person putting it together.
The baby gym is straightforward to assemble – even without the instructions. It is equally as simple to dismantle and packs away flat into a draw of slipped back into the box. The three legs that click into the mobile hub make the baby gym very stable and unlikely to warp,  which has been a problem with  past baby gyms.  The pieces unhook easily and could be used as pram mobiles if you so desired. The gym would be simple to clean. The mat and the elephant are machine washable and a quick wipe over on the plastic pieces would be easy to manage.
You will need four AA batteries to run the lights and sounds for this baby gym. There are three different tunes and the music is quite acceptable. It is not too tinny or computerized. There are three settings with the music and you don’t have to have the flashing lights if you choose not to. The one problem that I had with this toy was that I found it difficult to open the lid to insert the batteries.  It took a bit of pressure and finally the lid did open, but it was an effort.
The baby gym is not limited to the new baby, even when the baby is sitting up they would still be interested in the lights sounds and swinging mobile pieces. Overall, I think that you would get good value for money with this baby gym.

very cute, and extremely easy to use.  bub thought the colours and toys were fascinating, and we found the gym great.

the colours are so bright, they are perfect for either a boy or a girl, the characters are extremely cute, and it's great being able to take parts off to use elsewhere (it means the gym lasts that much longer, and is more versatile)

easy to set up, but as i've found with all gyms, a bit bulky to store (but it is being left set up, so no issues).

definately worth the money.

This is an awesome play gym! It's easy to put together, and the vibrant colours and music help to soothe my baby even at 2 weeks old! It also attracted the attention of my 17 month old and encouraged him to lay underneath the gym with his new brother. He was equally entranced by the music and lights.
I like the sturdiness of this gym. Many on the market go quite flimsy and floppy if any pressure is put on the bars, but this one stay strong and in shape, which is handy when my older baby decides to give it a good workout! I also like the idea of using some of he components as pram toys, great idea.
The only downfall I see with this gym is that with other gyms that form a cross shape with the bars, they can be easily folded up in half, whereas this one, as it has 3 bars that come together in the centre with the light and sound section, it can't be folded up. That said, it is easy to disassemble so this won't be too much of an issue.
I would definitely recommend this gym to my friends (in fact a few came to our house today and commented on what a great looking gym it is!) and I think it would make a wonderful gift for mums of small babies.

We too were very excited to find this playgym on our doorstep, and I'm grabbing the opportunity to add my thoughts while my 4 month old daughter plays happily and noisily beneath it. Not too much to add to other's insightful comments. It is a lovely looking playgym - beautiful colours - bright but not too garish, and all the detachable toys are very cute. It was a bit of an ordeal to remove from the packaging and get the batteries in, but the rest of the assembly was easy and it is quite a lot sturdier than my collapsible playgym (while not as portable or easy to put away). Sound, lights and moving parts are a bonus, though I don't chose to have them on too often - the music still doesn't pass the easy adult listening test - it would be better if you could have movement/lights without the music, but it's less annoying than some!
My one cpncern is that some of the hanging toys are quite hard and heavy and I feel like they could cause a bit of a shock to bub if swung too hard in the wrong direction and hit her in the head - hasn't happened so far though!

What a wonderful surprise to find the Luv U Zoo™ Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym waiting on our front doorstep when we arrived home. My 7 1/2 week old daughter already loves the cheerful music and beautiful colours - looking forward to her interacting with it fully as she gets a bit older.  My 3 1/2 year old already walks around the house humming the tunes. Animals are also a big favourite in our house. Another home run, Fisher-Price!

Th Love U Zoo playgym is fantastic!

It looks great in the box, and was very easy to set up.  My only quip about set up is the batteries are a little tricky to install, the plastic back is really hard to get off once it is unscrewed.

The toys are great, the monkeys tend to come with us everywhere we go, great for teething.  The music is much less annoying than other playgyms and I love that you can restart it with a big red button.

I think the rattle on the hippo hangs down a little low but in general the toys are great.

Thanks for letting us test the product :-)
  • Report
Thank you for letting my little one test this product, she loves it!

The initial set up was quick and easy and the detachable toys are handy to grab as we are heading out of the door. They can be also be attached to the pram and my little one especially likes the monkeys which tend to go everywhere with us also. The koala is the next favourite, providing a great portable rattle and visual distraction when we are out and about.

At 9 months she is on the move and into everything. The playgym manages to keep her attention longer than most of her other toys which is great for me too! It has not been put away since we got it. The lights are also a great addition and the inclusion of music, a mirror, bright colours and pictures it is a treat for her developing senses!

I agree with some of the other comments that the base could be a little more padded and the hippo is a little big and does hang down too low. However, these are very minor negatives to an otherwise great playgym.

Other mums have commented on how good it looks and how much more interactive it is than some other gyms on the market and I would definitely recommend this gym to others.

I have only had the chance to open and assemble this playgym, as my next baby is not due for another 5 weeks, but I have already noticed a couple of positives over my old playgym. The first of these is the sturdiness of the structure. My old gym only had 2 foam arches to support the toys and light display, and as soon as my little one started to roll over, it would collapse in a heap on top of her. Because of this, we were unable to utilise the old product after she was 7 months old. There will be no problem like that with this one. And I love that this one has a mobile to keep my little one entertained.

We too were very excited to find this playgym on our doorstep and felt very happy.
we are expecting baby this November and Lu V U Zoo is the first precious gift from essential baby. However we just finished assembling it, which was pretty easy and didn't find any issues at all.

The colours, lights will definitely entertain my baby and the only negative aspect I felt was it could have been much easier if it can be folded easily for storage purposes rather than now it needs to be dismantled completely for making away for more space.

I have gone through the product information and I am interested in purchasing this Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym. I think my baby will like it a lot. He is now 3 months old and started responding to dolls and other toys. I think he will love those hanging animals in this Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym. I think this musical mobile gym is good for my child in his playing as well as in the brain development process. I would also love to make some Christmas cards of his pictures and hang it with his Gym. I would like to know about the price and the list of available stores so that I can buy one for my child.

I absolutely love this product! My daughter is 7 weeks old and it is her favourite past time.
It is difficult to amuse a baby of this age especially when trying to distract between feeds but i put her on the mat and each time it is like a new experience for her. She chats and coos and laughs at all the animals. She especially loves the lights and music.
My daughter had difficulty looking to her right side from birth but with all the different animals and mirror all around her she was soon looking around and after a few weeks she happily looks to her right and the elephant pillow for tummy time is an excellent idea.
It was easy to assemble, the mat is soft and washes well and it can be moved easily to any room of the house.
Well done Fisher Price!!

My 9 week old son loves this play gym!!!
It was easy to assemble the mat and toys although to insert the batteries you need to use a very small screw-driver which we didn’t have. Also batteries weren’t included – but besides these 2 small downsides we love everything else about the gym.
The toys can be moved around to different hanging locations on the mat depending on where my baby is positioned. Also the mirror can be propped on one of the hangers so he can see himself when doing tummy time which he loves.
The music is very catchy and I even find myself humming the tunes to my baby when we are out and I am trying to settle him. The lights and moving mobile he loves too, although I wish you could use them separately without the music.
The colours are well co-ordinated to suit wither a boy or girl and the mat is nice and soft when it is used on our carpet. The size is also nice and large for when he is older.
Overall I would definitely recommend the Luv U Zoo Deluxe Musical Mobile Gym!!!
