1. Charlie - We are really keen on Charlie, but neither of us are keen on the name Charles - even saying it out loud sounds a little weird. If we're going to call him a name, we should be able to use the proper version. Would you call your son Charles and then never actually use it?
2. Fred - We both quite like the name Fred. Is Fred a proper name on its own, or is it a nickname from Fredrick?
3. Errol is our third option - but for some reason every one in our parents' generation hates this name with a passion! To quote my MIL; "You know, that Errol Flynn had syphillis!" Gee thanks for that!
What do you think of our 3 names so far? FYI the middle name will be William.

Charlie- I would use Charles as the full name, regardless of wether you choose to use it. At least he has the option of using it when he is older and may prefer it to the more juvenile Charlie. + + Fred + + + + Errol I think Errol is all sorts of terrible.
Can William be the first name? I much prefer William Charles, William Charlie, William Fred or William Errol.
With a little inspiration, imagination and forward planning, a day involving screaming hordes of children descending on your home in search of fairy bread can be fun.
