don't borrow sorrow from tomorrow
Seems silly not to, we have our own hens and 3 eggs every day.
So I tried, did it slowly, adding the oil bit by bit until my whole arm was about to fall off and still it was runny.

I gave up, tipped the liquid mayonnaise into the lovingly prepared coleslaw and mixed it in.

Then was bizarrely grossed out by the idea of eating the raw egg in it, even though I buy commercial mayonnaise (Thomy - the greatest).

Tell me dear sisters, is there an easier way?

Do you have an electric mixer? Even a food processor?
Making Mayo by hand takes similar effort to making meringue by hand....definately use a mixer!

Trying to go completely organinc
Do you have a food processor?

Throw the egg yolks, mustard, squeeze lemon juice or wine vinegar, salt and pepper. With the motor running, pour the oil slowly down the feed tube. This method literally takes a minute and pretty much always works.

AAAAhhhhh. I do not have a food processor.

I don't think I will buy one just to make mayo.

Are they any good for other things?

Eggs? I think if you google, you'll probably find a recipe or two.

Do you know that if you muck it up you just add another yolk, keep stirring, and it will come right?

Ah you meant a food processor ddoh.gif

Yeah. Google's good on ideas for that too. People don't just buy them for mayo or hollandaise.

5 in my arms, 3 in my heart and more in my dreams....
My grandma makes mayo out of condensed milk, mustard and some other ingredients (vinegar maybe?!) Sorry not much help for you Cali - I assume you want a recipe or tips that use eggs. Maybe make something else with the eggs and buy your mayo ready-made again?!!
