On the eve of Sydney Fashion Week, Jo Casamento revealed in the Sun Herald today that  the most exciting designer story is happening on the other side of the globe.

Veteran frock designer Leona Edmiston and her husband and business partner, Jeremy Ducker, are celebrating the news of the arrival of their twins, believed to be cutely named Dusty and Dylan. They were born in the US last week via a surrogate mother. Other celebrities to have had babies with a gestational carrier include Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker. Most recently Giuliana Rancic announced she was expecting her first child via a surrogate last week.

The couple, who have been married for more than a decade, are in the US getting to know their twin babies: ''It's a very private time for us and we don't wish to discuss it at this stage,'' protective daddy Ducker told S from the US. ''We just want to bring them home safely.''

The Essential Baby team are huge fans of Edmiston and her figure-friendly dresses. She also has a range of designs for young girls, called Little Leona.
